Dear UNILORIN Student Union,

Good evening. I would like to respectfully bring your attention to the prolonged power outage affecting students living off campus. It has been close to a month now without electricity, and the silence around the situation has made it even more frustrating.

What is more concerning is that there has been no form of update or communication to students about what is actually going on. Since I came to this school, even when issues like this happened in the past, students were always kept informed and solutions were usually provided within a few days.

The current situation feels very different, and it is quite shocking that nothing has been said for this long.

We respectfully plead with the Student Union to please look into this matter urgently and also help keep students updated on what is happening and what steps are being taken to resolve it.

In June, the wife gave birth to her fourth child in my apartment. It was a home delivery, and I found myself boiling water, cleaning, running around the night of that delivery. I told myself surely, after a week or two, they would move out. Instead, they settled in even deeper. The wife’s mother arrived for omugwo, bringing along a 13-year-old girl, Faith.
