@AlabamaRow Head Coach, Kumari Lewis, gave her thoughts on a question from FSN after placing fourth behind @CanesRowing at the “Inaugural Orlando Invite” hosted by @UCF_Rowing.
FSN: Aside from Coco Curry, Caroline Hall & Charity Stephens, who have been up and comers for your program, are there any athletes that have specifically caught your eye this season since racing season has got up and running?
Kumari Lewis: “The two athletes that I have here with me right now [pointing towards Seniors, Lizzie Hall & Dani French] while they are Seniors, it has been so special to see them blossom throughout this season, and use the tools that I am giving them to the best of their ability, and it is so special to get to watch them in their Senior Year make something incredible happen at Bama. They put in an amazing amount of work over these last few years, and I think it’s finally coming to fruition. I’m grateful that I get to work with them because it’s so fun seeing them thrive out on the water and throw themselves at it head first.”
@AlabamaRow Head Coach, Kumari Lewis, is in her First Year at the helm for the Crimson Tide.
Lewis spoke with FSN on Finals Day of the “Inaugural Orlando Invite” hosted by @UCF_Rowing. She shared what she believes is the one of the most imperative approaches as a Head Coach that she’s pursued this season to take the Crimson Tide to new heights and rise exponentially in the ranks during her first year in Tuscaloosa:
“Helping these women have some more fun out on the water. It’s really fun to go fast and it’s College Sports. Seeing them discover their joy in rowing and in exercise being free on the water and have fun figuring it out has just been so much fun for me too. I’m really grateful for the opportunity that I get to bring something different to this squad. It’s been really cool to see them grow and try something new and take risks every single day and I’m really excited for the future because I really think we can only continue to have more fun figuring it out.”
