What a month! From academic milestones to school programs to character recognition, February was one for the books! We launched our โEach One, Reach Oneโ National Board-Certified Teacher initiative; celebrated Black History Month across the district, welcomed @UofSouthAlabama guests, and celebrated award-winning school efforts including the @mves_warriors International Coffee Trolley ๐
Today, @GovernorKayIvey officially proclaimed this week as Public Schools Week in Alabama!
All week long, weโll celebrate the historic gains made by students and educators across the state. Together, weโre building a stronger Alabama. #WeTeachAlabama#ALPublicSchoolsWeek
We welcomed President Jo Bonner, Dr. Andi Kent, and Ryan Missanelli from @UofSouthAlabama to Thompson High School today ๐ซ
I appreciate this team always sharing higher-ed knowledge and insights with our students!
This week, 17 of our 38 National Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs) gathered to kick off a targeted recruitment effort: "Each One, Reach One!" This plan leverages the influence of our current NBCTs to inspire their peers to pursue certification!
By highlighting available scholarships before the 3/31 deadline, we aim to increase our percentage of NBCTs and, by extension, enhance the quality of instruction across ACS.
