The date October 20 will always leave a churn in my heart. The day before was the last time I had true hope, and I’ve been fighting so hard to hold on to hope for humanity ever since. Perhaps it’s because the only things I’ve seen and experienced since then are denial, degradation, and division. It all seems so pointless, like a mockery of a fight that was once worthy. I think I’m failing at this hope of a thing, but I also know I wasn’t born to be a misanthrope so I will keep trying.
May all the dead, the wounded, the scarred, and the exiled be remembered for their bravery. You did nothing wrong. We betrayed you. Nigeria betrayed you. You have every right to never forgive us.
But you did nothing wrong. It was we who failed you. And we continue to fail you.
Shame on us.

Until the church acknowledges marital rape and speaks on it, we’ll keep hearing of stories like this. Because what that man did was rape. He raped his wife but Christians vehemently refuse to have this conversation.
“A man can love you deeply and still cheat.”
“A man can love you deeply and still forget your birthday”
Make una remain small thing for the man wey hate you.
This reminds me of that tweet that said; "You don’t have to lie to women when they like you because they’ll lie to themselves." Because that’s exactly what this is. A coping mechanism and what women say when they’ve already decided to stay so they need the story to make sense.
My view is that some things don’t have to make sense to you…
….so far they make your partner happy do them.
She has an obsession with sundresses, buy them.👗
He loves dark shades, get them for him. 🕶️
She has a collection of cute hair pins, add to them 💕
He is obsessed with sneakers, gift him 👟
Your partners happiness should be your priority. ♥️
A good percentage of the things you’d do in a relationship is not necessarily because you understand the appeal, but because it will put a smile on your partner’s face ♥️
I hope this helps 💫💫💫
One of the things I wish we would stop doing collectively, as women, is attributing ignorant and harmless intentions to men’s very harmful behaviours. We make too many excuses for those people and that’s how we keep getting hurt. We struggle to understand the multidimensionality of human nature and only view them from the angle of whatever illusion we’ve built in our heads based on one specific aspect of their character.
A man can be consistently sabotaging a woman and making her miserable but because he occasionally cooks, opens the car door, takes her to see her favourite movie or “allows” her have a few hobbies, you’d be hearing, “He’s a good man. He doesn’t realize he’s hurting me. He doesn’t mean to.”
Okay, but you’ve let him know over and over again, and things only change when he feels as though he’s losing (the hold he has over) you. Which, in my opinion, is the greatest proof that he’s in fact aware.
Please, our own refusal to see wickedness for what it is puts us in more harm than we realize. I’d know, coz I’ve been there.
A person can be nice, whilst still being cruel. Let’s learn to accept all sides and see them for who they truly are. Then, act accordingly. There’re certain things a person who truly cares about you would never do, or at the very least, repeat.
P.S: This isn’t related to the current discourse on the TL. I saw another unrelated tweet that made me decide to put words to thoughts that have been plaguing my mind for a while now.
@the_beardedsina Blood is not free. It may be free in the book but in reality hospitals are selling and buying blood. Some years ago, I and my friend sold our blood at a Federal hospital in town.
Biggie really said no 1 of 1 this year.
You got a baby? I’ll bring 3 more.. You from Ekiti? I’ll bring 4 more of you… You’re from the trenches? I’ll bring 2 more of you… You’re a DJ? I’ll bring 1 more.. You are Arewa? I’ll bring 1 more… You got tattoos? I’ll bring 2 more…
