After being promoted to High-A Aberdeen a couple days ago he launched his first A+ HR today. Coming into the day he had been slashing .302/.442/.615 with 8 HR and 28 RBIs plus a 16.7% BB%.

Signed this past January out of Venezuela for a $5.6M bonus (of a team possible $5,825,500 total allotment across all players) on Day 1 of the international amateur signing period, both the Padres going essentially all in and now Salas skipping rookie ball are significant. The last time a 16-year-old prospect skipped rookie ball was 2013 when Dodgers' pitching prospect Julio Urias did so. Salas ended his debut 2-3 with the 2B and a BB.

After a relatively rocky first couple of starts after coming off the IL, Red Sox Pitcher Brayan Bello (18% Rostered in Yahoo) has been hitting a stride over his last 3. https://t.co/JDsB3ISZIY Over those starts Bello has a 3-0 Record, with a 2.81 ERA and 17 Ks across 16 IP and .238 OBA.

He got knocked around during his first start of the season (5 ER in 2.2 IP), and while the four-seamer usage has remained consistent Bello recently switched to using a sinker/changeup mix (34.7%/13.9% in 1st start vs 45.9%/20.4% in May) more in place of the slider (36.1% 1st start vs 17.0% in May). Despite allowing opposing batters to reach base more than 7 times in each of the last 3 starts - The results of the pitch mix change have been promising so far. He’s a worthwhile streaming option this week at the LAA but keep in mind he gives up plenty of hard contact, even when facing an against a Angels team which has been striking out a 29.6% clip over its last 3 games
