EMPOWERING PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES THROUGH ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INCLUSION IN KIAMBU COUNTY
MSEA Kiambu County Office, in partnership with TechnoServe, conducted empowerment engagements for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Kamwangi, Gatundu North, and Kiandutu, Thika. The initiative focused on strengthening entrepreneurship skills and creating awareness on government support programs available to PWDs. During the sessions, participants received entrepreneurship and financial literacy training aimed at equipping them with practical business management skills to help them start and grow sustainable enterprises. The team also sensitized participants on opportunities available through MSEA grants, revolving funds, and the 30% Access to Government Procurement Opportunities (AGPO) program. The exercise further identified specific needs affecting persons living with disabilities in both rural and urban settings, including the need for assistive devices and social protection registration support. The engagement successfully empowered men and women living with disabilities with knowledge, skills, and access to information necessary to enhance economic independence, promote inclusion, and improve livelihoods within Kiambu County. #EmpoweringMSEs @DrOparanya@SusanAMangeni@CoopsandMSMEs@MSMEs_KE@JamesMureu@HRithaa@KiambuCountyGov
