On this day in 2003, Andy Serkis accepted Gollum’s MTV Movie Award for Best Virtual Performance and turned it into one of the greatest acceptance speeches ever.
It was so good it won a Hugo Award the next year for Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form.
HEY @amazon@AmazonMGMStudio
I REFUSE to believe that the original creators of #Stargate would have created something that wouldn't have had broad appeal. They are extremely talented people that created one of the biggest franchises in our time. REVERSE this decision!
LET THEM SHOW YOU AND US WHAT THEY CREATED.
Look at what is happening to Disney Star Wars at the box office right now. Look at how the new Star Trek Academy went.
WHY do you keep making the same mistakes?!?
IT'S NOT TOO LATE. LET GERO, JOE AND THE OG'S COOK!
Did Paul Crawley seriously just ask Keiran Foran if he wanted to be a career coach on the day he signs a multi year deal to coach Manly? Thus guy is a flog.
@TheParraEels, can someone get Jason and the coaching staff to get the halves this week and make them practice passing the ball BACKWARDS? That would be a great benefit to for our future success. #NRLKNIGHTSEELS
@mitcheels1 So, on top of our mounting injury toll caused by foul play, now we have a representative coach ignoring our clubs directions and injuring our skipper. This game just keeps giving.
@SnoogThe I used to have the exact same problem in the 80's. I have followed Parra since I was 5 years old in 1976. When they signed Mick Cronin from my area. When we started winning everything I got the same accusatory looks. Just like all the Broncos supporters in 92, and 93.
@Parko23@ContinuousCall@John_Michaels1 But then they also whinge that they are not the ones causing the rule change. That club moans more than most...except for Roosters and Raiders
@beerboy182 Not just the NRL, why did Fox insist on showing them? At one point even cutting away from the on field action to show them standing nose to nose.
My grandfather said he’d never move into a retirement home.
He said, “Too expensive… and the food tastes like someone boiled sadness.”
Instead, he checked into a beachfront hotel.
We asked, “Grandpa, isn’t that even more expensive?”
He smiled and said, “Not really.
At the retirement home, I’d pay $200 a day for cold meatloaf and no visitors.
But here? For $150 a day, I get ocean views, room service, fresh towels, a pool…
…and suddenly all my grandkids remember I exist every weekend.”
Then he leaned back in his chair and delivered the final line like a mob boss:
“And if I die in the hotel lobby, the manager will actually look disappointed.
But at the nursing home? They just call it Tuesday.”
