@mashobanes@PhylaxM Agreed. Bad workmanship is not a race issue. It’s a work ethic issue.
It’s all about how much importance one puts on the job.
A simple philosophy, is that you have a job. No matter what that job is, be the best person doing that job.
@lango142@PeterStefanovi2 I’m certainly not labour. But we’ve already had a PM that went into an illegal war.
Britain has always been ready to defend allies when justified.
Trump is dragging the world down a long dark hole.
Anyone with half a brain can see that.
Years ago, I was venting my outrage over some American military operation. My late father—bless his soul—tried to reason with me. He argued that, unlike the Russians, the Americans at least try to fight with some semblance of humanity.
At the time, I was indignant. The very idea of "humane warfare" seemed like a dark absurdity to me.
I know better now. I’ve learned that there are, in fact, different ways to wage war. You can fight with cruelty and treachery, or you can choose not to. That choice is the thin line separating civilization from barbarism.
The Trump administration has decided that barbarism is a strength. The Secretary of War literally signaled the end of “woke rules of engagement.” Translation: no more humanity. No more restraint.
And they’ve already put this into practice in the opening days of this conflict.
Everyone by now has heard of the bombing of the girls' school—a massacre that claimed between 165 and 180 lives, mostly girls aged 7 to 12.
I didn’t write about it at the time, even though it was a staggering tragedy. For one, my goal wasn't to drum up sympathy for the Iranian regime. Secondly, in the "fog of war," the truth is often the first casualty. I held out hope that if it was an American blunder, they would at least acknowledge it and apologize.
They didn't. They didn't apologize, and they didn't take responsibility. Instead, they started lying—borrowing directly from the Russian playbook. They flooded social media with fakes, claiming the Iranians blew up their own children and had already "confessed" to it.
But maybe that was a mistake. At least, I desperately hoped it was. Until they committed a deliberate act of treachery. Now, it's a clear pattern.
I’m talking about the sinking of the Iranian vessel returning from pre-war exercises hosted by India. It was destroyed by an American torpedo near the coast of Sri Lanka.
The death of 87 sailors has been confirmed. Sri Lankan rescue teams pulled the bodies from the water; 32 were saved. Approximately 61 remain missing. Given the time elapsed and the nature of the strike, there is no hope for more survivors.
Under the exercise protocols, these ships were unarmed. America has not officially declared war on Iran. This ship posed no immediate threat to anyone. Sinking it was a blatant war crime. Furthermore, the Americans made zero effort to rescue the crew, violating the most basic laws of naval warfare. To top it off, they posted some arrogant, taunting "good riddance" message on their official social media pages.
To prevent a repeat of this tragedy, the Sri Lankan Navy intercepted a second Iranian vessel—a tanker—nearby. They evacuated all 208 crew members and took them into custody for their own safety, fearing the U.S. might sink them too.
I’m sorry, but I refuse to support this "Atrocity Exhibition." Especially when it’s wrapped in this deranged religious propaganda, painting Trump as the "Vanguard of Jesus’s Army" on the fields of Armageddon.
