President Trump, Senator Scott and the Florida Republican Party are making a mistake following Democrats tactics of trying to anoint any candidate and certainly Byron Donalds. Lessons learned from the Democrats anointing of Kamala Harris fiasco, would still be fresh in their minds. Floridians, hopefully will do their own research, be informed voters. Byron Donalds has a poor, longterm personal and business background. His performance is weak as an elected official. This is damaging the Florida Republican Party and certainly hurts President Trump and Senator Scotts credibility. I dont know anyone supporting Donalds. Donalds is not the person we need leading Florida.
@RepLuna This is far different than what President Trump said were his goals and standards at the start of this. Disappointing if what is coming out in dros and grabs is close to being accurate. This has not been handled well by the Administration.
Need a debate for Governor of Florida. Byron Donalds is the wrong man for the job. Trump and others who are promoting Donalds, have really missed the mark. His actual personal history, work history and performance in office are proof he his the wrong man to try and be Governor of Florida. However, is not that he doesn't have skills, his track record, proves he would be a perfect fit for Governor of New Jersey or New York.
You should be expressing your concerns about Byron Donalds and his being unfit to hold office, let alone be Governor. RNC, The Florida Republican Party, President Trump and others are making a mistake attempting to anoint Byron Donalds, without debate. That is a playbook the Democrats tried with Kamala Harris. It is disappointing to see Republicans take this approach, which will come back to haunt them. Byron Donalds does not have the character, integrity nor is he an honorable man, qualified to be Governor of Florida. Your efforts to get this message out and up the chain, is appreciated.
@CAgovernor Right and Marcus Aurelius said "When it is time for you to leave, go willingly, as you would do to accomplish anything with grace and honor". Oh right...you have no honor.
@WhiteHouse Respectfully, you don't seriously believe this will be effective. Finish the job, this is kicking the problem to the next President. Sincerely would hope you would resolve this 47 year problem.
The Editorial Board misses several key points. Of all the assets citizens may own, their homestead should not be an ATM for government spending. The majority of homeowners do not have access to special treatment and benefits embedded in tax codes benefiting the wealthy and businesses; because the average citizens do not have strong, powerful, lobbyist fighting for their interests. Citizens, the average person, only have their elected officials to represent their interests; and so they trust their interests will be represented fairly. But, the fact is, elected officials, most often, bend to the lobbyists, big business and other special interests, when passing laws and spending tax payers money. It is common fact, Municipal, State and Federal governments in general have poor track records of managing public funds well. Spending excesses, fraud and waste are all too common. Citizens power to balance and control government spending is to limit how much money they are "willing" to send to the government. The homestead exemption matter is a "Clarian call" for Florida citizens to have their voice heard on a common sense matter. Most Floridians, ones who have been in the State for generations, have been seeking relief for decades. This is a rare chance, thanks to Governor, for voters to limit how much of their money they choose to send to the government. For many, a homestead is the American dream and the foundation of excelling in all that American has to offer.
Disappointing you did not press Leader Thune, on several concerns and lack of action, you have expressed about the Leader often on your show. Curious why you took a more gentle approach, avoiding tough questions. Missed opportunity. Thune prevents the President from completing recess appointments, and Thune needs to work hard to get rid of the Senate filibuster, an unattended consequence from cleanup changes made to Senate rules in 1805.
@PeteHegseth@POTUS President Trump finally needs to act, and finish the job. This last few months Iran has worked smarter against President Trump and he is loosing the negotiation effort to resolve this matter. FINISH THE JOB and let's move on.
Senator Thune there is a lot of serious work that needs to be done in Congress. If and when the Democratic regain control of Congress, Democratic Leadership have stated, they will get rid if the filibuster in the Senate to accomplishtheir objectives. If you dont believe them, you are kidding your self or you are a Democrat plant. So Don't wait, take that action now. The filibuster itself was a mistake, after Aaron Burr advised the Senate to amend the rules in 1805. You nor anyone in the Senate can provide a logical argument why the filibuster should be allowed.
Senator Thune you need to look in the mirror. As you point out California's failure to address the election problems and note it is a "really stupid way to run elections as it undermines the confidence and trust of the people" in the election process. As Leader of the Senate you have achieved the same results. You have lost the trust, confidence and respect of the people. You have failed as Leader of the Senate. Hopefully you will reflect on your own failure to lead, act honestly and fairly on behalf of all Americans and resign.
@misfitpatriot_ Byron Donalds is the wrong man to lead Florida. Hopefully Florida voters will do their own research, be informed voters. President Trump, Senator Scott and the RNC Hopefully come to their senses and retract their endorsement of Donalds.
Constitutional Convention is the way. For decades, Congress and both political parties have proven their inability to do what is right, fair and common sense. As citizens, we have federal taxation without representation at this point. But we still have a voice and can be heard with Constitutional Convention.
Eliminating "T", taxes, from the PITI ratio used by lenders, will be a huge benefit to many Floridians.
Mortgage lenders use a PITI ratio to determine how much of a loan a borrower will qualify. (PITI = Principal, interest, taxes and insurance). Eliminating "T", taxes, will allow more first time homeowners to "qualify" for a mortgage loan, allow existing homeowners to move up to buy a larger home, say for a growing family, etc. And of course the reduction in taxes for the other homeowners, will feedback into their local economies.
As a fourth generation Floridian, this has been needed for a long time. Thank you.
