Desperately sad images. Sow stalls/gestation crates, they are one and the same. Gestation crates are banned in the EU, except the first 4 weeks of pregnancy. And the sow can be put in a stall a week before birth, so in reality she spends nearly half her life trapped in a cage too narrow to turn around in. Nearly all pigs in Ireland are bred and reared in factory farms, subjected to this misery. Unbelievably some try to claim this is high welfare 🐷
