@Kilsally I worked for two major food companies in (NI) and 40% went to the EU. A lot went down to ROI and there no trade restrictions as a result of the Protocol. English firms insisted in vet certs because they were using our cheese on products going to the EU - nothing to do with NIP
@KilclooneyJohn Look at the type of MPs who voted against the deal. Liar Boris, Truss who almost trashed the U.K., ERG who misjudged the damage Brexit has done, Free hols Paisley etc. Donaldson and Co will lead (NI) to a UI and they do not see it, including YOU
@KilclooneyJohn The vast majority of Tory MPs voted for this deal including Brexiteers like Steve Baker, Andrea Landsom, Geof Cox etc. Those people voted for the deal because they care about the (NI) economy.
@JamieBrysonCPNI In many cases the U.K. is still operating to EU law. Many of our laws, based on EC directives, have not changed since leaving the EU. If a factory in England sells a food product to the EU, the product must comply with EU food regs. What’s the big deal wrt EU law?
@gawanorniron@BeattieDoug You will get your answers in today’s parliamentary debate at Westminster if you listen to Julian Smith, Andrea Leadsom, Geoffrey Cox etc.
@BeattieDoug It is in NI’s interest to have free access to the EU market in return for EU law. If a factory in England is selling a food product into the EU it MUST comply to EU food regs. Norway (non-EU) adheres to EUlaw for free trade to EU. NI is v much part of the UK regardless of EU law
@JamieBrysonCPNI This guy does not care about the union or the people living in (NI). Tory ERG and DUP misjudged the economic impact Brexit had on the U.K. Do NOT listen to them about the WF. Listen to ex PM Major and Blair - who supports the WF for the welfare of (NI).
@KilclooneyJohn NI position in the U.K. was weakened by Brexit and poor behaviour by DUP. Listen to Tony Blair’s televised interview why the DUP should back the WF in order to protect the union
@deirdreheenan ERG made a big misjudgement regarding Brexit - damaged our economy and weakened the union. I would not pay any attention regarding their opinion on the Windsor Framework. They are totally disloyal and undermine their party. Labour must love them.
@davidvance@AlexKane221b If Unionists listened to the recent televised interviews by Tony Blair, it is clear that the DUP should back the WF and get back into Stormont for the sake of both our economy and the Union with GB. At least the UUP are listening to key stakeholders who care about our country.
@davidvance@AlexKane221b I do not agree. The DUP do not care about our economy or what the majority of the people in (NI) want (ie back to work and support the WF). Arlene ignore leaders (many of them Unionists) from food industry who did not want Brexit. UUP wants to do what is right for (NI).
Remember -Johnson did not intentionally or knowingly mislead his readers when he was sacked for lying as a journalist, never intentionally or knowingly misled his wives and families when he betrayed them and has never ever made a promise that he knew would not be kept. Yeah right
@KilclooneyJohn Brexit which the DUP supported has weakened the Union and damaged the U.K. economy. The majority of Unionists in businesses back this new deal along with the majority of the people in (NI). SF must love the DUP because if they continue to say NO, then there will be a United Irel
@JamieBrysonCPNI That guy does not represent Unionism. SF must love him, Jeff Donaldson and Co. because they will quickly send us into a United Ireland if they refuse to compromise and continue to work against the U.K. government and the majority of the people in (NI)
@BBCNewsNI@duponline @J_Donaldson_MP He is a joke. SF must love him. He will very quickly deliver a United Ireland if he continues to say “No” and drags our reputation and economy into the gutter. Both Tony Blair and John Major have urged him to accept the WF but he listens to one except for a few other clowns ….
@KilclooneyJohn Rubbish. The Govt is trying to accommodate all sides (NI); GFA, soft border and issues wrt the Protocol. There has to be compromises in (NI) politics. But hardline Unionists treat the British govt like dirt. Most Unionists in the private sector back the WF and did nt want Brexit
@HulkRedanYellow@JamieBrysonCPNI @J_Donaldson_MP Let’s have a referendum on both the WF and on a return to Stormont. In the manufacturing sector the vast majority of Unionists support both. DUP/TUV/ Brexit have weakened the union and severely damaged the U.K. economy. Can’t always say no and drag our economy into the gutter.
