Not a good day at the office today for David. He felt flat and had nothing to give in the 800m final today. Something to work on for the future. Onwards and upwards.
David is safely through to the final of the 800m in the British Athletics Championships at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham. A strong run saw him finish first in his heat. Final tomorrow
Disappointment for David in the BUCS 800m final. Felt strong in the heat and semi final, felt totally flat in the final. Tried his best to kick in the last 100m, he was closing but had to settle for 4th. Next up the Belfast classic on Saturday.
Safely through to the final of the 800m in the BUCS outdoor athletics champs in Cardiff tomorrow. David will be getting a stern word from his coach, he was told not to look back and just go for the win but he couldn't resist a cheeky glance back before crossing the line
David is safely through to the semi final at the BUCS athletics outdoor champs 800m in Cardiff. The problem with being in a hotel at competitions like this is drying your kit when it gets soaked in the heats ๐
David is in South Africa on a training camp. He is training hard and looking forward to the new outdoor season. BUCS in Cardiff is most probably going to be his season opener.
@GoriolaSola Unfortunately not! He was so up tight he didnโt sleep Saturday night. Found himself at the back of the pack after the break, gave himself too much to do. He just couldnโt find the space to overtake. He gave it all in the final straight but finished fourth. Another learning day!
Mixed fortunes for David this weekend. Birmingham, UK athletics indoor championships. Saturday he won his heat comfortably qualifying for the final. Today, he found himself at the back of the pack after the break. Too much to ask to come through. Missed a medal by 2/10 sec.
David has put together a short YouTube video of the build up to his race in the EAP International in Glasgow at the weekend. Please give it a look, like and subscribe, it will help get him some exposure. Thank you

A magnificent run from David tonight at the EAP International Indoor meeting in Glasgow this evening. Great time of 1:47.66. Not bad for a season opener.
European u23 champs. 4x400m not the race David hoped for. Looking strong and on for a very good time, David stumbled at the handover and lost control of the baton which crashed to the floor alongside him. Auto DQ. Thankfully nothing injured but his pride. @GatesheadHAC
Disappointment in Bergen. David missed out on a place in the final at the u23 European champs. Only first two to go through, David was third. No excuses, he gave everything. Looking forward now to hopefully being in the 4x400 relay team on Sunday ๐ค๐ป
@GatesheadHAC
Been waiting for the teams to be officially announced so that I can let you know that David has been given the honour of representing GB&NI in the 800m at the European u23 Champs in Norway, and the World University Games in Germany. His hard work and dedication is paying off!
BMC Twickenham. Another learning day. David broke his spikes just before his menโs 800m A race. No time to get spare pair, had to borrow some. Scrappy race, coming into the last 100m a tussle forced David out to lane 3. Still a solid race, 1:47
