Hi @ScotRail, when purchasing a Roundabout ticket, this must be bought in person on the train or from a staffed station. When boarding at a non-staffed station, is anything required before boarding to avoid being charged the penalty fare?
@ScotRail Hi @ScotRail, a minor crumb of comfort for the hoards left waiting. At least it is sunny, but as I say, a staggeringly poor customer service choice was made right there.
@ScotRail Hi @ScotRail, everyone was waiting at the bus stop adjacent to Edinburgh Park railway station as directed. The decision to run a direct bus only to Airdrie, especially when so many folk are waiting for travel to intermediate stations is nothing short of abysmal customer service.
@ScotRail Hi @ScotRail, as stated it was a DIRECT service to Airdrie. Anyone heading to any intermediate station was instructed not to board.
Given that only 4 people boarded the coach, and 50 or so people are left standing, clearly a very poor customer service decision.
@ScotRail So, a bus had turned up to go direct to Airdrie.
With a grand total of 4 people getting on it,
Yet there are in excess of 50 people or so left waiting.
Staggeringly poor customer service.
@ScotRail Hi, I do appreciate you getting back to me. This service normally runs with 6 carriages, which it definitely needs, so there must be a reason why it is being reduced and becoming more commonplace. Thanks again.
Hi @ScotRail, the 16:08 from EDB to ARM is frequently reduced to 3 carriages, feels this happens at least once a week or more. This is second consecutive night. Is there any reason for this, especially given the other line from EDB to GLC is closed this week.
@ScotRail Thanks for the response @ScotRail, the article doesn’t specifically mention kids for a quid fare.
The section that may cover it is “Staff will have the discretion to issue the minimum fare depending on the customer’s circumstances.”
It would be good to know definitively though.
@ScotRail Fair enough, but odd it couldn’t have been predicted until right on departure time, no explanation offered just told to get off, then the empty train leaves the station anyway.
@EdinClair@ScotRail You can check to see the reliability of different services using this website:

It was cancelled yesterday morning, but is usually a reliable service.
@ScotRail Still no joy after deleting and reinstalling @ScotRail app, not wanting me to have a mobile ticket for a journey between ARM to EDB.
Purchased many times before.
Odd that other stations on the route and this is still available.
@ScotRail trying to purchase a return ticket from ARM to EDB on the app, to have the ticket on my phone, but only being offered collecting at station ticket. Any reason why I can’t purchase a ticket to have on my phone for this journey?
@ScotRail I’m signed in to my account, yes.
Strangely, trying to buy a ticket for BHG to EDB will allow me to purchase the ticket on my phone.
I will try deleting and reinstalling the app.
@ScotRail, as Super Off-Peal fares are only available from ticket offices and on board trains, can you please confirm if the Seasons Loyalty Discount (previously only available online) will also be available from ticket offices and on board trains?
@ScotRail To enable the combined discount like before, will ticket staff in ticket office and on train now also be able to add the season loyalty discount?
@ScotRail with super off-peak fares only available now from a ticket office or on board the train, does this mean you can no longer use the ‘Seasons Loyalty Discount’ on a super off-peak fare?
My understanding is that this discount can only be accessed when buying tickets online.
@ScotRail Hey, the issue is Hayley, before the off-peak fares all day trial, super off-peak tickets could be purchased online, combined with a season loyalty discount.
This no longer looks possible, which means there are now fewer reduced price tickets available than before.
Is this so?
