Purify our conscience,
Almighty God,
by your daily visitation,
that your Son Jesus Christ,
at his coming,
may find in us a mansion
prepared for himself;
who lives and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.
Most of my life...
I sit down to get to one of the many items on my to do list. And then someone interrupts me with a question and soon I'm listening to their life story.
And then I check my clock I realize an hour has gone by. Or an afternoon. And my coffee has gone cold.
PRAYER OF ST. BRENDAN
"Help me to journey beyond the familiar and into the unknown.
Give me the faith to leave old ways
and break fresh ground with You. Tune my spirit to the music of heaven, and somehow, make my obedience count for You."
AMEN.

Look for the crowds as they return to their everyday lives, whilst Jesus prays alone, yet in the presence of God.

'Jesus Calms the Storm'. Jesus holds his arms wide as he hushes the rain, wind and waves. Peace comes from being with Christ.
Can you find the cross in this image? Most people don't notice it at all.

@JTsick6 Franciscans/Poor Clares? Any of the Catholic orders that involve vows of poverty really. Maybe St. Theresa of Liseau and her little way. I wonder if that influenced who she cared for. Not sure if any of these are directly motivated by Matthew though haha
"I give bird songs to those who dwell in cities and have never heard them, make rhythms for those who know only military marches, and paint colors for those who see none."
- Olivier Messiaen
"Listening is hard. It asks of us so much interior stability that we no longer need to prove ourselves by speeches, arguments, and pressing our point...true listeners are free to receive, welcome, and accept." ~ Henri Nouwen
