We know @JulianBurnside’s views on Jews and Israel. We recall him disgracefully equating Israel with Nazi Germany, despite Israel being 20% Arab and Arabs holding senior positions at every level of society.
I wish Israeli forces would watch SBS news,or other footage of the horrors they are inflicting on Gaza: they would stop straight away. How many Palestinians will they kill?
The key thing to address the destructive influence of social media on eating disorders is not to impose age limits, but to stop the self reinforcing algorithms.

For those who think Assange a hero, please read this brilliant piece by former Dty Secretary of Defence, Peter Jennings.
As he points out, the only tactical winners from Assange were the Taliban; the geopolitical winners, Russia & China.
No hero.

One of the most distinguished and decorated Australians, Sir Peter Cosgrove, has said “Hitler would be proud” of the explosion of antisemitism in Australia since October 7.
Another clear message that we need more action and less talk from our leaders to stamp out antisemitism.
EXCLUSIVE: The Albanese Government has decided to support the UN vote to give "Palestine" full membership of the United Nations. This will be seen as a huge betrayal of Australia towards Israel. It's also rewarding Hamas for its bloodshed and slaughter on October 7.
University presidents everywhere need to embrace this simple statement by Ben Sasse, President of the University of Florida:
"At the University of Florida, we have repeatedly, patiently explained two things to protesters: We will always defend your rights to free speech and free assembly—but if you cross the line on clearly prohibited activities, you will be thrown off campus and suspended. In Gainesville, that means a three-year prohibition from campus. That’s serious. We said it. We meant it. We enforced it. We wish we didn’t have to, but the students weighed the costs, made their decisions, and will own the consequences as adults. We’re a university, not a daycare. We don’t coddle emotions, we wrestle with ideas."

NEW: Jewish UCLA student blocked from entering his own school while he tries attending class.
Eli Tsives was refused entry by pro-Palestine students on campus according to his post on IG.
"They didn't let me get to class using the main entrance! Instead they forced me to walk around. Shame on these people!" he said.
The protesters have maintained control of the plaza for four days at UCLA and are now denying entry to people like Tsives according to KTLA 5.
Members of the media, some students and even UCLA firefighters were barred from entering.

“For a second, imagine that black students at Columbia were taunted: Go back to Africa. Or imagine that a gay student was surrounded by homophobic protesters and hit with a stick at Yale University”. https://t.co/8md3yEEXKH
It’s always great to catch up with Mary Aldred the Liberal Candidate for Monash.
I have known and worked with Mary for many years. She will be a strong & effective voice for the Gippsland region.
In particular her experience supporting small business is well known.
The United States House of Representatives has passed a resolution condemning the chant ‘From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free’ as ANTISEMITIC. The resolution passed 377 to 44 - an overwhelming majority!(HR 883)@AIJAC_Update
“Friends, let me be clear: at this very moment radical Islamic terrorists in Madrid, New York, Paris and London are following this war.
If Israel is blocked from defeating Hamas, each one of them will be inspired.
If we crush Hamas, their hopes for terror will be crushed along.
YOU will be safer.”
Those who have been deluded by lies and misinformation to believe that Israel has committed war crimes in Gaza should consider the following:
1. Every civilian death, whether Israeli or Palestinian, is a tragedy. But any other country, struck by the immensity of the atrocities committed against Israel, would likely have responded with vastly greater force and inflicted far greater numbers of civilian casualties.
2. Notwithstanding Hamas’s use of its own population as a human shield, Israel has done its utmost to reduce the damage to civilians. For Israel, this is a moral imperative.
3. Israel has taken unprecedented measures to warn civilians of impending actions and to evacuate them from combat zones. That is why Israel has maintained the lowest combat to civilian casualty rate in modern warfare - as Hamas’s own statistics show.
4. Despite the unique challenges Israel faces in its war against Hamas, internationally recognised urban warfare expert, John Spencer, recently wrote in Newsweek that ‘it has implemented more measures to prevent civilian casualties than any other military in history’ eg, use of precision and small diameter bombs, warning civilian populations through dropped leaflets, text messages, phone calls and designated four hour pauses on multiple days for civilian evacuations. Countless civilian lives have been saved by Israel’s restraint.
5. Though Hamas is well known to grossly inflate its casualty figures, even that of the 28,000 civilian deaths cited by the ‘Gaza Health Ministry’ actually proves Israel’s case. That figure includes some 12,000 terrorists killed by the IDF. Deducting that number as well as the civilian casualties caused by the 30% of Hamas rockets that fall short within the Gaza strip, leaves a total of roughly 13,000 civilian casualties. That is a ratio of nearly one combatant death for every civilian. According to the New York Times, in America’s wars in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, the ratio was four civilians killed for every combatant. The record for NATO’s 1999 intervention in Serbia was similarly 4 to 1.
6. Israel’s success in reducing civilian casualties is unmatched.
7. Outrage at the civilian casualties must be directed at those who cynically and barbarously engineer them. Hamas’s goal is to delegitimise Israel and brand Israelis as war criminals. Israel is engaged in an existential war against an enemy that is committed to exterminating it.
Stop what you’re doing and listen to the despicable remarks of @Greens MP @jennyleong , in which she accuses Jews of having “tentacles” which they use to try and influence power.
Leong has plumbed new and dangerous depths by using one of the oldest and darkest antisemitic tropes to accuse Jews of covertly manipulating civic life. She has outrageously suggested that there is a sinister or evil purpose associated with Jews undertaking the most normal of activities – interacting with other Australians.
Her comments echo antisemitic propaganda throughout the ages, including Nazi propaganda, that Jews were conspiring to control the world.
It is not only concerning that Leong – an elected official – believes this sinister and unfounded conspiracy but that she has no shame in spreading it. It is also striking that no other attendee at the event called out her hateful rhetoric.
All decent people need to call out and condemn Leong’s dangerous and divisive rhetoric. It has no place anywhere, but especially not in modern Australia in 2024
Kfir Bibas was abducted from his home by Hamas on October 7th. His 1st birthday is today. Perhaps all those people who have been so vocal about this conflict can ask why Hamas don’t simply release him now?
This is the London Underground.
The network is 250 miles long.
It's only 55-70% the length of the network of military tunnels Hamas built under Gaza, with shafts poking out in homes, schools, mosques, and UN facilities.
Let’s clear this up once and for all.
1- Criticize the Israeli government? All good. No problem. Not antisemitism.
- Deny Israel’s right to exist? Not all good. Big problem. Pure antisemitism.
2- Care about innocent Palestinians? All good. No problem. Not antisemitism.
- Claiming Israel is indiscriminately and even intentionally killing innocent civilians? Not all good. Big problem. Pure antisemitism.
3- Calling for an end to violence? All good. No problem. Not antisemitism.
- Asking Israel to unilaterally cease fire while Hamas continues to fire rockets and commit terrorism against Israelis? Not all good. Big problem. Pure antisemitism.
4- Wishing for the self determination of the Palestinians after their educational system is reformed and stops spreading Jew hatred? All good. No problem. Not antisemitism.
- Chanting about the erasure of Israel from the map (that’s what ‘From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free’ means. No Israel.)? Not all good. Big problem. Pure antisemitism.
5- Investigating the events of October 7th? All good. No problem. Not antisemitism.
- Denying Hamas’ October 7th crimes and sexual violence against innocent Jews? Not all good. Big problem. Pure antisemitism.
6- Protesting against Israeli policy? All good. No problem. Not antisemitism.
- Attacking Jews or Jewish institutions including synagogues? Not all good. Big problem. Pure antisemitism.
The line between legitimate criticism and full blown Jew hatred is a fine one, but a good litmus test is to ask yourself “Is what I am demanding from the Jewish state something I demand from other nations/countries or is this opinion of mine only applicable to the Jews?”
Antisemitism is a very real and a very painful thing for Jews worldwide.
All of the above forms of antisemitism might seem harmless to you, but I assure you, every one of those things leads directly to verbal and physical violence against Jews.
Words matter and when you use your words to spread hate, hate spreads.
Let’s not confuse valid constructive criticism with the hatred of Jews.
Kapeesh?
Oh; and more thing. Don’t kid yourself that antisemites are all low life criminals.
As always, they also sit at the highest levels in society and mask their Jew hatred with sophistication.
They did it in Germany and they’re doing it today.
Today, some of the smartest and most successful people out there have proudly removed their masks and revealed their true face, a face of a person who thinks calling for genocide of the Jewish people is totally ok.
It’s not ok.
Never was and never will be. 🇮🇱💪✡️
Extraordinary. Thousands of actors calling for the destruction of Israel. That’s what “from the river to the sea means.” Surely they must know this.

The Zionist Federation of Australia is disgusted by the protesters in Melbourne overnight who intimidated the families of hostages taken by the terrorist organisation Hamas on October 7.
ZFA President @jeremyleibler said, "There is support for the Palestinian cause, and then there is the vile, cruel intimidation of people whose loved ones have been kidnapped by rapists, murderers and torturers.
It is absolutely disgusting that anyone would seek to intimidate these relatives, who are already suffering the trauma of having their family members kidnapped or murdered. These protesters need to take a long look in the mirror and ask why they are supporting a terrorist regime."
