@SquareLukester I tried vibecoding a d3d11 renderer for AGS, and all I got was a fulscreen green rectangle

[Alan Van Drake @AlanVanDrake]

@thomasmahler Valheim could use some earnable QoLs, like craft from chests, reparing multiple pieces in one go (maybe tied to building skill), ways to allievate the grind from areas far beneath your level, etc.

The question is what the player focus should be at every stage, and let em do it.

[Alan Van Drake @AlanVanDrake]

@thomasmahler IMO the trick to long-lasting games is to keep the amount of work the same in the various stages of the game.

Some fail by piling up too many mechanics to a point it overwhelms the player, some fail by automating too much too soon and taking away the drive.

@_fiendus Nothing worth showing. Motivation has been low. I was starting development on a side game, which has also been cooking for a while, and then I got swamped by work again.

Remastered backgrounds, and new animations. Not many assets missing for the demo.
Just need to focus and #gamedev

[Alan Van Drake @AlanVanDrake]

@sdkaeppel I am, but 2024 was not a good year for gamedev. I'll lurk some more until there's good news to tell.

[Alan Van Drake @AlanVanDrake]

I tried to follow along a random "alla prima" youtube video to practice oils with #Rebelle7

[Alan Van Drake @AlanVanDrake]

@ResiEvilCentral @AITDGame @THQNordic I loved breaking the game, like jumping over the collapsing bridge while reading one of those cursed books, or shooting at the worm outside before it hit me.
One of my favorites.

Happy new 2024!

I added a copy-to-clipboard to the big view right click menu, and adjusted the "File Path" filter so that you can restrict to the current directory when you pick "Equals".

Just two small QoL things, I wanted to have while managing ref pics with Allusion.

[Alan Van Drake @AlanVanDrake]

My sweet little niece started nursery school, but it's actually a biohazard research facility with poor containment procedures.

Since I'm 20 days behind schedule, I'll give you this custom version of Allusion (a free photo organizer) as an apology:

@dt_sqr If all goes according to plan, I'll open a steam page this December

[Alan Van Drake @AlanVanDrake]

@YahtzeeCroshaw Can't wait for the new "Zero days a journalist". AGS has been waiting for your return!

[Alan Van Drake @AlanVanDrake]

Def gonna make silly easter eggs like this.
Happy Halloween!

While I prep more juicy updates, here's a spook themed #illustration in preparation to Halloween.
If you ever wondered what kind of board game eldritch creatures play, it's WAGESLAVE™!
Based on true human suffering.

@AndreasJBlack1 I want the new demo to look good. I don't need much more programming, at least for this showcase.

[Alan Van Drake @AlanVanDrake]

The new demo rooms for #Wretcher are starting to look proper, but I don't want to spoil everything by posting too much...

[Alan Van Drake @AlanVanDrake]

@escapemotions @HuionTab What about Rebelle 7? What new features and QoL can we expect? There's no info anywhere.

[Alan Van Drake @AlanVanDrake]

@31x1d It's Wretcher. I'll prepare a Steam page once the new demo is ready.
Should be around December.

[Alan Van Drake @AlanVanDrake]

Alright, ingame menus are ready. Moving onto the new demo assets.
