130 MPH Infiniti Pursuit Ends With Arkansas Trooper Punching Suspect

LYTHEVILLE, Ark. — On Aug. 19, 2026, at approximately 11:21 p.m., Arkansas State Police Trooper Theodore Henderson stopped a 2023 Infiniti QX50 traveling 82 mph in a 60-mph zone on Arkansas 18 near the Big Lake bridge. After emergency lights were activated, the driver accelerated, reaching reported speeds of 113 mph and 130 mph. Henderson reported traveling between 130 and more than 140 mph during the pursuit.

Blytheville police deployed spike strips near County Road 239. The Infiniti struck the strips but continued into the city, ran a red light at Arkansas 18 and Arkansas 151, and lost air from its front driver’s-side tire. Henderson’s first tactical vehicle intervention failed. A second intervention pushed the vehicle over a curb near North 16th and West Walnut streets, stopping it.

Police identified the driver as Adonerus Johnson, 25. After moving into the back seat, Johnson attempted to exit. Gosnell Police Cpl. Cade Liles pointed a firearm at him and ordered him to the ground. Liles deployed a Taser after Johnson continued moving, with additional Taser applications reported before his arrest. Johnson provided breath samples registering 0.17.

Johnson was booked on felony fleeing, first-offense DWI, reckless driving, resisting arrest, speeding more than 15 mph over the limit, improper passing on the right, failure to stop at a red light, no seat belt and unauthorized use of another person’s property to facilitate a felony.

Rear passenger Tedrick Washington, 23, was also ordered out. After Washington said he could not exit, Henderson broke the rear driver’s-side window with a baton. Henderson reported that Washington pulled away and appeared ready to strike him. Henderson punched Washington in the face and took him to the ground. He reported another punch during the struggle. Washington was bleeding.

Washington was charged with obstruction of governmental operations and resisting arrest. A front-seat passenger was released without charges. Pafford EMS examined all three occupants; no hospital transport was recorded. Gosnell police determined Liles’ use of force was justified.
