I hadn’t, until an insurance peer reviewer said it out loud during a call. Apparently, some insurance companies already know they’re going to deny a procedure before they even hear from the doctor. The peer-to-peer? Just going through the motions.
It’s a term I suspect is used internally—but rarely shared with patients or physicians. And once you hear it, you can’t unhear it.

This isn’t how care should work. We need to start calling it what it is.

Sure. I am a small business owner. Here is an email just received from one of my suppliers yesterday. 25% increase starting today. Another supplier is 15% starting 5th. More will follow. Everyone stocked up on inventory so this will be round 1, round 2 incoming later. Will be higher. Right now companies are hoping it's all temporary so holding out as long as possible.

Her work authorization was recently renewed—she has no criminal record.

Elsy Noemi Berrios' attorneys said they have not seen any detention order—nor received any explanation about why their client is in custody.

72 hours later private school expelled 4th grade Black victim—effective immediately.

The Madeleine School is an "anti-woke" Catholic school in Portland, Oregon.

Principal Tresa Rastshe told the parents she thought their son made the whole thing up.

She then told them to send their son to a therapist so he could be "deprogrammed from the anti-racist training he’d received" in Portland public schools previously.

NYT reports that Bukele was uncomfortable with the Trump administration sending him people who hadn't been convicted of a crime. He wanted evidence that the Venezuelans were actually gang members.

Let this sink in. The guy who calls himself "the world's coolest dictator," who is famous for mass prison camps, thinks that the Trump administration is going too far in locking people up without evidence.

The Trump administration ended up giving El Salvador "evidence" in the form of their scorecard that said if you had tattoos you were a gang member.

They had no idea who they were sending. Random people who were picked up going about their lives, some of them with upcoming asylum hearings.

The administration was so careless that they tried sending eight women to the men's prison in El Salvador. They had to be returned.

Administration officials need to go to jail for this.
