Charlie Munger, the Stoic: "Life will have terrible blows in it. Horrible blows. Unfair blows. It doesn't matter. And some people recover and others don't."
"There, I think the attitude of Epictetus is the best. He thought that every mischance in life was an opportunity to behave well. Every mischance in life was an opportunity to learn something. Your duty was not to be submerged in self-pity, but to utilize the terrible blow in a constructive fashion."
@Supersonic_Red Both of my sisters are red heads. It’s true, your lot (I say it with love) is a woodland species unto itself. I’m the middle sister and I grew up between two firecrackers.
@justcelticmusic@YouTubeBoostX Third generation here. Irish roots: ‘McGeoghan’ from County Cork. Often wish they never left … but ah, here we are. Raise a glass and carry on.
Left my rural home uber early to drive to a nearby town. I hit HEB & then took the pup to exercise. It is SO nice to have a clean, safe place to walk early in the AM, where you can feel that wonderful, cool breeze off Lake Marble Falls & just enjoy the peace & beauty of water.
@ValerieAnne1970@WilliamCovert19 Just as pharma kickbacks to pill pushing drs was not right, this new kickback to the same group is also offensive. Whatever happened to doing the right thing?
@JoannaDeVoe Right now, it’s not so hot. Spring was really good. Rain, wildflowers & cool temps. Yes, it can get hot in the summer, but mornings are cool. I’m on a path by 7am in the summer. It also cools down in the evening, once the sun descends. I lived in Alaska too. Weather is temporary.
