When I was Muslim, I read the Torah as rules and history. I missed the whole point.

Jesus told the guys who’d memorized the Torah: “You’re reading the whole thing wrong. It’s about ME.”

I used to read Moses as rules and genealogies. Never dreamed it was a Person.

Then I hit what Jesus said to the scholars who knew the Torah cold: “You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about ME.” John 5:39.

And to two heartbroken disciples on the Emmaus road: “Beginning with MOSES and all the Prophets, He interpreted.., the things concerning Himself.” Luke 24:27.

Beginning with Moses. The five books. Jesus said they were about HIM.

The serpent-crusher of Genesis 3. The lamb of Genesis 22. The Passover blood of Exodus 12. The bronze serpent of Numbers 21. The two goats of Leviticus 16. The prophet-like-Moses of Deuteronomy 18. The tabernacle. The third day.

A thousand arrows. Every one pointing at a cross.

“Moses wrote of ME.” John 5:46. His own words.

I spent years defending a book (the Quran) that retold the Torah’s stories while fumbling the Torah’s entire POINT.

The Torah was never mainly about Moses.
It was about the One Moses couldn’t stop pointing to.

His name is Jesus.
