Just as a new NY law requiring publishers to license ebooks to #libraries was about to go into effect, NY's Gov. vetoed it. (The bill passed in NY unanimously). In MD, the #copyright lobby recently sued the state to try to halt a similar bill.

Amazing story. When a homeless mother escaping domestic violence has to steal newspapers to hunt for a job--and sends the newspaper $25 to pay them back-- you understand the incredible need for public libraries. Lets fund them so they can stay open longer, offering free computers
