Don’t quit your job because you want to learn Cybersecurity. Not everyone who starts a career in this field gets a job immediately. Cybersecurity is not a get-rich-quick scheme. it takes time, consistency, and effort to break in.
@arojinle1 I remember during my IT, a boss called me privately and was asking why I didn't iron my shirt, it's not good and all of that.
I told her I did but it's the material, she didn't believe me that at her age and she's not blind. I sha said thank you and stopped the shirt that day
It’s a wrap from my side ✨
My mentorship team will continue the selection process based on the applications received. If you applied, I wish you good luck 💪
I don't know who needs to hear this tonight, but stop expecting you from other people.
You care deeply, so you expect them to care deeply.
You communicate, so you expect them to communicate.
You show up, so you expect them to show up.
You remember the little things, so you wonder why they don't.
You consider how your actions will make someone feel, so you expect them to do the same for you.
And when they don't, you're disappointed.
Sometimes, deeply disappointed.
But here's the thing:
People will love differently.
They will think differently.
They will prioritise differently.
They will notice different things.
They will have different capacities, different values, different levels of emotional awareness and different ideas of what it means to care.
And sometimes, what feels like the bare minimum to you is genuinely more than someone else knows how to give.
This doesn't mean you should accept being mistreated.
It doesn't mean you should lower your standards or keep making excuses for people who consistently hurt you.
It simply means you need to stop measuring everyone with your own ruler.
You are allowed to say:
"This is not enough for me."
Without saying:
"How could you possibly not do this? I would have done it for you."
Because you are not everyone.
And everyone is not you.
One of the most peaceful things you can learn is to stop expecting people to love, think, communicate, sacrifice and show up exactly the way you do.
Pay attention to who they are.
Believe what they consistently show you.
Adjust your expectations accordingly.
And then make your decisions from there.
Stop expecting you from others.
You will save yourself a lot of disappointment.
Please don’t leave these cybersecurity opportunities in your bookmarks until the deadlines pass.
