Hello friends,

Early in 2025, several sharp-eyed readers pointed out to me that the Russian publication of EMPIRE OF THE DAMNED had been censored from its original form. This censorship largely consisted of the redaction of queer content – namely m/m and f/f relationships in the text.

This censorship was performed without my knowledge or consent.

To say that I was livid when I learned of it is an understatement. I understand the political situation in Russia is complex, and precarious for dissidents, and that Vladimir Putin may control a great deal. But I don’t live in Russia, and he does not control me.

As such, I have taken it upon myself to commission Russian translations of the redacted text. This translation was made completely independently of my publisher, AST. All care has been taken to ensure the fidelity of the original manuscript, including restoring all censored queer content.

This uncensored text—along with the images redacted from the book—will now live on my Patreon, under the “Censored Content” tag. These pages will remain perpetually and freely available to any reader who wishes to enjoy them.
