For the record, I'd say that's a "simple minded" view of the sequence of events involving Shannon Kent's death.

Dec. 19, 2018, Trump announces US will begin immediate withdrawal of US forces in Syria.

28 days later -- Jan. 16, 2019 -- Shannon Kent killed by a bomb an ISIS bomb in Northeast Syria, where US troops were positioned to provide a buffer between Kurds and Turkish troops while trying to extinguish the last remnants of ISIS -- which was accomplished in March 2019.

Joe Biden pulled all US troops of of Afghanistan in a helter-skelter fashion that ended up with 13 KIA along with thousands of Afghans who had assisted the US.

Is that a withdrawal model for US troops in Syria that you would have endorsed in Dec. 2019?
