@drruthannharpur My wife and I, both Doctors, were encouraged to go for delivery in a birthing suite, in a trust where CQC had found failures in communication between different areas of maternity. After Cat2 theatre forceps delivery for foetal distress, I’m glad we didn’t listen to that midwife!

Currently attempting to make a teaching aide for an ultrasound session using chicken breasts, red juice, and some rubber tubing. Not quite committed enough to have bought my own ultrasound machine, so no way of testing it before trying to teach tomorrow!! 😬😬

@DrLukeCraddock As a Resident Doctor sent without choice to a hospital where I leave 1hr45 before my shift to get parked, I disagree that consultants who have chosen to work at that hospital with knowledge of parking options and more choice to live locally, should have priority over me 4 parking

@RCEMpresident My concern about the 4hr target is that it ends up pushing depts to target the ‘low hanging fruit’, with senior EM clinicians ringfenced for patients that could be dealt with by SDEC or UTC. Meanwhile more complex and arguably more emergent patients wait longer.

@dave_dlt It wouldn’t cost any different. You have to give your staff the day off, so it’s either all have the bank holiday off, or spread the days off out. And it sounds like you’re doing the work anyway just all crammed into Tuesday?

@dave_dlt Might be a silly idea with reasons why it wouldn’t work, but why can’t GPs just open as normal on BH, and give staff a day off in lieu like we do in ED? Would solve the issue of the Tuesday workload, reduce pressure on urgent care services, + give staff flexibility with days off.

11yrs ago today I became an @stjohnambulance First Aider. Many hours of events +NHS support later, with a collection of roles held, I’m still going strong! There may be challenges ahead just as there has been before, but I’m looking forward to another 11yrs ( and then some more!)

It amazes me that with all the technological advances we’ve seen in the last 15yrs, @ITVX is still such a shockingly slow and glitchy system. I remember @BBCiPlayer being miles ahead when I was a kid, and somehow it still manages to be.

@Coeliac_UK any advice on whether these oxo cubes are ok? The front of the box says gluten free but the back lists Barley in bold. Fairly new to the coeliac cooking game so want to be certain.

@DarcysMick @swasFT Because they can’t magically make more ambulances no matter how many times you call, and all that calling back does is tie up a call handler when someone else could be dying and unable to get through. horrible situation but asking for update just makes them unnecessarily busier.
