Back in January I called for a Royal Commission into family and domestic violence. We cant continue to accept this level of violence against women.

A Royal Commission is the most comprehensive, transparent and credible way to uncover systemic failures, identify what is and isn't working, and ensure victim-survivors are not re-traumatised by the very institutions meant to protect them. We need governments to treat family and domestic violence like the national crisis it is, and to act.

Today Parliament will debate a bill to cut 160,000 people from the NDIS. Treasury says only 2.6% of savings will come from cutting down on rorts and waste. Most savings will be from denying disabled people the support they need.

Meanwhile, the govt admits to 'tens of billions' wasted on defence but won't undertake an inquiry into AUKUS.
