@TSLAGROK75@BartFurley The slow roll protests fall under multiple different traffic laws. One such example, under provincial law, purposefully driving abnormally slowly could result in careless driving or stunting fines. Premiums can jump from 25-100% per year just from one of these fines.
@RyanGassn@cspotweet The only way imports don't cost more and exports make less, is if Alberta negotiates an immediate FTA with Canada and the USA.
We would negotiate every trade deal from a position of weakness. There is an extremely high risk of an economic crisis, if not a full economic collapse.
@RyanGassn@cspotweet Private healthcare, private education, increased costs, decreased revenue and reliance on a volatile commodity.
You can't use the fiscal numbers of today. As soon as you factor in a realistic budget, the economy collapses and unemployment skyrockets.
@ikwilson The referendum asked for the removal of equalization. That was never going to happen. It was destined to fail.
The referendum would have been far more likely to elicit change if it asked for changes to the formula rather than total elimination.
@StayFreeAlberta 4-6% economic contraction, yet all the numbers in every discussion don't reflect this. You can't base projections on today's numbers. The problem is, using realistic projections would show misery and pain for upwards of 80% of Alberta's families.
@cnm5000 Tell me how any budget being released from the pro side factor in the economic cascade of events. They take current numbers and promise the world.
@troutwhispers@CoryBMorgan There is no taxpayer funds being spent to fight this ad.
The town released a statement and shared relevant information. That's it. I don't see the "fight".
@cnm5000 The most likely outcome for Alberta secession for our children and grandchildren is a cascading effect that costs families thousands of dollars per year, extremely high unemployment and an economy effectively in ruins. The risk is just too high.
