“their advantage was not that the state worked perfectly. their advantage was that the network worked”.
can our relationships do more than absorb money ?
can they organize money?
can they discipline money?
can they multiply money?
can they build assets that outlast the person who first earned the income?
until that happens, much of our money will keep circulating socially without becoming capital.
lovely read 👏
Why isn't Nigeria rich?Bad government? Corruption?
Or is there a more uncomfortable explanation: the way we think about money itself?
In my new article, I explore why some societies turn money into capital, while others struggle .

for anyone going through pain. either the pain will grow big enough to finally move you, or you will stumble across someone’s story somewhere on this planet, who stood in the exact spot you are standing right now, carrying the exact weight you are carrying, and found their way through it.
you need courage.
Unfortunately, I have to admit that I have not done my best. My current situation is a direct consequence of my incompetence. I suck at doing this life thing.
conversations.
helping someone get a job.
being kind.
telling people how impressive they are.
investing in yourself.
investing in relationships early.
all of it compounds.
you are going to fail.
you don’t have the experience.
the market is too competitive
you don’t know anyone in the industry.
you are too young.
just keep going, the world may not meet you yet but one day, it will pretend it always did.
Let the "Esthers" fast and pray but let them also risk their lives and speak to the King.
God's generals who do "opening prayers" at political rallies and palaces should at least be loud about the bloodshed in the land.
However, if they are too afraid of losing the King's favor, they shouldn't expect their fasting and prayer to have much impact.
when you pass through the waters, I will be with you and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.
when you walk through the fire, you will not be burned. the flames will not set you ablaze.
CONTINUOUS ABDUCTION OF NIGERIAN SCHOOLCHILDREN AND THE COLLAPSE OF SCHOOL SAFETY
After congratulating Nigerian children as they celebrate their day today, my heart remains heavy and troubled, knowing that some Nigerian children have remained in captivity for years. It is a shame that days, weeks, months, and even years have passed while our children continue to languish in kidnappers’ dens, with their heartbreaking images still circulating on social media.
A nation that cannot protect its children from criminals has little but shame to present to the global community. No parent can bear the shame of being unable to protect his or her children, yet here we are as a nation, moving on while our children continue to suffer in forests and captivity for years. -PO
Happy children’s day to the 51 kids carted away into the forest on motorbikes (using them as shields) from a nursery school in Mussa community of Askira-Uba LGA of Borno State.
These kids were aged 2 to 5, and have been in captivity since 15th May, 2026.
Tinubu failed you all💔
can’t overemphasize this enough “give yourself time”. success does not come overnight, in a few weeks or in a month. It takes a lot of time and hard work.
I remember when I was earning N20,000.
Asin my annual net was N240,000.
I also remember that I rejected a 1,200,000 monthly net offer (onsite role) in April 2025 cos I felt it did not meet my expectations + I wanted to focus & build @thegenzhr
The concept of time is interesting. All you have to do is wait.
- build an identity outside your job title & spend 1 - 2 hours everyday upskilling. it makes it easy to pick up the pieces if you get laid off/fired.
- find ways to make your manager’s life easy, they will like and reward you for it.
- don’t engage in office gossips against anyone. it will come back to bite you in the ass.
- don’t be a loner, make friends within and outside your organization. they might just be the key to your next opportunity.
