A newly adopted Pit Bull puppy kept sneaking back to the rescue center. Again and again. His family tightened every gate. Locked every door. Still, he found a way out. So one day, they followed him. He walked straight into the shelter, down the hallway, and stopped at one kennel. Inside was Murphy — an old Pit Bull mix with a gray muzzle and tired eyes. The second Murphy saw him, his tail started thumping against the floor. Turns out, these two had been kennel-mates for months. Best friends. And when the puppy got adopted, nobody thought to check on the dog he left behind. Murphy stopped greeting people. Stopped waiting by the door. He just sat there, near the empty kennel next to his. A week later, the family came back. This time, the papers had Murphy's name on them. Now they share the same yard, the same couch, and somehow — even with all that space — the same dog bed.
