Robot snails, bio-inspired robots that team up! 🐌
Researchers at The University of Hong Kong have built small robots modeled after snails that can operate individually or connect together to take on larger tasks.
Using suction to bond, they can form structures like a robotic arm or collectively climb obstacles, enabling new modes of locomotion and manipulation.
Applications range from disaster response, where teams of robots could navigate rubble to search for survivors, to planetary exploration in unpredictable terrain.
