@grahamwettone But the pay review body recommended 3.9%.
What’s the point of an independent pay review body for a profession without the right to strike, if the Government of the day can simply ignore its recommendation?

@drchrisnewton If the Police released video footage as part of an ongoing investigation, they’d do so officially through their own channels of communication.
‘Probably’, as It’s important not to assert things as fact which we don’t know to be the case; you should try it sometime.
@AEthelswin@IsabelOakeshott No they don’t. The CPS have no idea or any involvement in an investigation.
Their first involvement will be consideration of sufficient evidence to charge.
As you clearly have no idea how police investigation are run, why comment?
@drchrisnewton Not treating it as terrorism, doesn’t mean terrorism is excluded, just that there’s nothing to positively indicate it as terrorism at this time.
Would have been better to say that, ‘nothing to indicate terrorism, but we keep an open mind as investigation progresses’
@RogerthePolice@grahamwettone No they prove the ability to pass academic qualifications.
A certain level of academic knowledge is necessary to be an effective cop, but it’s far from sufficient.
An over emphasis on degrees alone as a route to fix policing has led us to where we are.
@AndrewGillies9@RobertJenrick No, it’s based on over 35 years of personal experience.
Where did I dismiss what happened to Henry Nowak?
Jenrick was referencing a different incident.
Presenting exceptions as the rule serves his political purposes.
@InspGadgetBlogs Unfortunately, likely to be a College of Policing reset, so expect much on equity, intersectionality and under-represented groups, while little to nothing on unmanageable demand, crippling bureaucracy and a scapegoat culture based on outcomes not reasonableness of decisions.
@paulund@ZugPaints@grok Because if they do, they risk being put on trial, criminalised, lose their career, livelihoods. Why would they? Politicians who shout the loudest about them doing nothing won’t protect them when they do.

@HighwaysWMIDS Well you’ve got several thousand vehicles been here for four hours as you’re taking them off at one of the most congested unsuitable junctions. I’m sat with a 90 year old; he had to relive himself by the hard shoulder or wet himself. This can’t be the best you can do
