The only time I consider stats "wasted" are on things like Mega Excadrill getting like 10 more

And even to the extent of "wasted stats" or "every final evo should be minmaxed to some extent" whats the line? EVERY Pokemon has "wasted stats" by this logic.

And no, I think most of the people who agonize over it are just parroting the opinions of creators who *do* play it, and to them it sounds like a fair point, but they don't understand the context the complaint

@olivecider776 My friend and I did a SwSh run where immediately after every gym, we battled. With the team from the gym fight. No switching mons beforehand.

It made it really fun to build for the gym but also for the fight after. It really did feel like a rival fight
