“Don’t bother. We’re waiting to die.”
The world has failed the Palestinian people.

Thank you for trying @rohantalbot
Prime Minister Starmer's lapidary statement re the Gaza genocide is problematic in at least two respects: 1. it gives the impression that what happened on Oct7 may remotely justify the military course that has ensued (which it does not, in any possible way); 2. it casts a shadow on the ongoing work of the ICJ (South Africa v Israel; Nicaragua v Germany) - after the World Court recognised the plausible risk of genocide within 15 days from the starting of the proceedings (clearly the rapidity of the first response underscores the seriousness of the case).
I trust UK international law scholars and practitioners will make their voice heard, and stand firmly against the politicization of int'l law.
We're at the High Court today for the legal challenge against the UK gov’s ongoing arms transfers to Israel.
Since 7 Oct 2023 they’ve issued 108 arms licenses to Israel, incl parts for the F-35s - violating their own rules…
As crimes by Israeli forces in Gaza continue, the UK gov must be held accountable for their failure to uphold int’l law.
#StopArmingIsrael now.
Francesca Albanese slams Starmer & the UK 🇬🇧:
“Israel is committing a genocide. It’s not only me saying that. It’s hundreds of legal experts, historians, genocide scholars, including from Israel 🇮🇱
So why is the UK 🇬🇧 still trading weapons with Israel 🇮🇱”
The UK is guilty.
There are many ways in which Israel is destroying the Palestinians in Gaza. Creating unsustainable and inhumane conditions of life is the most complex and cruel.
Do not call it "war". It is a genocide. The motives are irrelevant. The intent (ie the determination) to destroy is evident and unequivocal. As unequivocal is the complicity of others states.
The student movement for a liberated Palestine isn’t going anywhere! And as they stand with their Palestinian peers, Jewish students are bravely demonstrating that their Judaism is inseparable from their in solidarity with the Palestinian people. We stand with them.
To honor the Jewish festival of Sukkot, hundreds of JVP students and other Jewish student groups across the country erected Gaza Solidarity Sukkahs on their campuses. Inside the beautifully decorated, hand-made Sukkahs, Jewish students gathered in prayer and protest as the Israeli government continues to invoke Judaism to fuel its genocide.🧵
You don’t shut down the media unless you have something to hide.
One reason the Israeli government has been able to carry out nearly a year of genocide is because it’s deliberately silencing coverage from Palestinians and other journalists on the ground.
Horrifying scenes unfolding in Gaza, amidst conflict, relentless Israeli strikes & an ever-worsening humanitarian crisis. I condemn the continuing attacks on civilians. Hostages must be freed, displacement of Palestinians must cease, & civilians must be protected.
