@NateForUtah@soy_sauce97@TPUSA What about how many laws you passed in the legislature? Donโt hide behind being in a super minority, when many Democrats are able to pass meaningful laws. The question the community deserves an answer is: have you been effective legislating? Show us the numbers, and bills.
@rileybeesley@tvheidihatch Did you shared this video with the police department or your purpose is just political gamesmanship. Because we have the best police department in the state, well trained, well staffed, well equipped, and kept accountable, they are not soft on crime.
@VoteTrevorLee Not only there are mountains of articles that proves your statement wrong, there are thousands of companies that disagree too. Diversity of backgrounds is a key driver in innovation, in retention, in performance, in improving problem solving.
@Manhattva Actually it did, the article says alter and reform their government. The people created an independent commission to draw maps, the maps created were blatantly ignored by the legislature. The judge is just enforcing the law on the books. We canโt just pick and choose some laws.
@Manhattva All power is inherent to in the people, and the UT constitution also give us the right to reform it. Fortunately the Lt governor accepted the ruling, and is following the law.
@Manhattva The Lt governor deemed the initiative constitutional, the signature process happened, which btw was organized in an office you rented for us. But it was deemed constitutional through and through as Utahns have the right to petition their government, and vote on it.
@wanderingdave I agree, good work from Mayor Zoltanski on her work to revitalize a dying mall into this. We also didnโt have a choice on the financial mechanism but arguably the tax revenue of a training facility vs an arena that would attracts thousands is also very different.
@danmccay@sltrib Senator, I do think this โviolationโ is small and not controversial. But on the same note many times legislation is started for even smaller reasons. While we may see writing biases on this two articles I hope we can check our own biases when we push/support legislation.
@rachelle_morris@katymck1 Incorrect. Letโs go deeper: does the state give the counties & cities unfunded mandates (this the state should do but they arenโt paying), does the state takes municipal funds to fund projects that have a collective state-wide benefit? Btw, are required to pass a balanced budget.
@rachelle_morris Maybe you missed the long budget duscusssions (I donโt blame you). But for example the fire dept has identified that 30 %!! of all medical calls and~20% of the mental health calls relate to homelessness. Thatโs not even digging into parks, police and the other departments.
