A tiny bee just did what chemotherapy couldn't.

Scientists in Australia discovered that honeybee venom can wipe out 100% of aggressive breast cancer cells in under 60 minutes.
And the healthy cells around them? Barely touched.

The breakthrough came from Dr. Ciara Duffy and her team at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, working alongside the University of Western Australia.
They tested venom drawn from 312 honeybees and bumblebees across Australia, Ireland, and England.

The target: triple-negative breast cancer and HER2-enriched breast cancer. Two of the deadliest, most stubborn forms of the disease.
The weapon: melittin. The same tiny peptide that makes a bee sting burn.

At one specific dose, melittin tore through cancer cell membranes completely within an hour. Within just 20 minutes, it shut down the chemical signals cancer cells need to grow and multiply.
Bumblebee venom, which lacks melittin, did nothing. Zero effect, even at high concentrations.

Scientists then recreated melittin synthetically in the lab and got almost identical results, meaning no bees need to be harmed to develop the therapy.

Published in the peer-reviewed journal npj Precision Oncology, the findings are still early-stage. Human trials haven't happened yet.

But one thing is clear. Nature has been hiding answers in plain sight all along, sometimes inside the smallest creatures on Earth.

They watch us, study us, and watch how we react in different situations: what affects us, where we are weak, where we forget to pray, where we get irritated more quickly. Imagine a hunter. He can't read the mind of the animal, but he knows its habits. He has studied where it drinks water, where it rests, and what sound it is afraid of. And he hits the spot, not because he knows everything, but because he is patient and attentive. 

That's why the Holy Fathers talk so much about sobriety (Gr. νῆψις / nepsis) or alertness—a constant attention to the thoughts and the heart in order not to allow devilish inspirations. This is the basis of all spiritual struggle. Sobriety is paying attention to yourself. It is the ability to notice the first movement of a thought, because if you notice it first, you succeed. If you don't see it, anger has already taken a step forward. St. John Climacus says: "The beginning of the victory over demons is soberness of the mind." Pay attention to what is happening inside you.

This is not politically correct to say, but there are hundreds of millions of physically attractive people hiding behind copious amounts of excess fat.

Obesity is the greatest killer of physical beauty. And one of the greatest killers, period.

Yet many people will be more upset that I'm saying this than they are at the billions of collective years of health and life expectancy caused by the epidemic of fatness. Which is PREVENTABLE and REVERSIBLE.

This mentality sums up why modern society is cooked.

It's implicitly been decided that it's better to let people destroy themselves than to be honest with them and actually help them.
