"I wish they'd stop calling me a terrorist. That's what I wish. I wish they'd stop calling me a radical. None of these people are radical. They just want healthcare. They want to end American militarism. They want to spend money on roads, infrastructure, on schooling, on healthcare, rather than bombs overseas." HASAN IS SPITTING 🔥
@internett_baby @hilosfemi2 Really? For me sex ed was done separated by gender and the boys were taught a lot of… really backwards and harmful things honestly.
But yeah, either way… better education would do so many people wonders. I’d imagine it would change a lot of toxicity we see online.
A young man DM’ed me, asking for realistic steps for young writers trying to get noticed, and if i had any tips.
This was my best Writer Dad impression. I thought I should share, in case it helps anyone else.
Ew someone I thought was chill just started complaining about how feminism ruined Christianity for him.
As in women made his religion worse somehow.
Gonna just block and cry a little. How stupid…
@peninachan Woah, actually solid and probably controversial take on this scene.
I wonder if that’s how the creators intended it to feel, but when you put it this way it’s very on point.
@kiitiie3 I’m pretty sure New York allows women to be shirtless in all the same places men are, for basically the same reasons.
I never see anyone do it, but I’d say all the more power to anyone who wanted to.
(Obviously that and hope they stayed safe.)
@Nazarath__VA@KamilaBombette You can absolutely empathize with an antagonist, or even enjoy the idea of someone lashing out in a trickster kind of way. But after the Ribbit scene… it was very clear their story was meant as a cautionary tale for anyone who could relate or was in the same boat.
@KamilaBombette They were 100% the antagonist the whole show. People only realizing it at the very last episode either showcased weird media literacy or them realizing they liked a trans character and that short circuited their brain.
Either way, great show, weiiiiird audience.
@AkariVixenVT And this is why I’m so up front about why I befriend people. “Have you heard about x,y,z media? Strap in, cuz you’re about to.”
… I need more people irl who are into books and shows and games.
Or maybe start a YouTube channel.
@internett_baby @hilosfemi2 There’s definitely a… serious gap in sex education where men are taught they literally *have* to watch porn to touch themselves otherwise it’s unmanly in some way.
Hopefully more people unlearn this and can treat porn (real, drawn, or written) as an optional aid. 🤷🏻
@victimizir Bipolar (medicated) here, Hoo boy did that happen a lot to me when I was unmedicated, manic, and running semi popular accounts. :/
There’s no benefit to being a false friend, but people just… want the ease of knowing someone without any of the hills that go with it.
@internett_baby@1BrownEyedGirI Same goes for us guys! What we wear, how we do our hair, taking care of ourselves + putting in a little extra razzle dazzle is both for our confidence and to make others appreciate how we look!
@internett_baby@______dywm 100000000% if you’re doing something you have to or want to hide from your partner then the relationship is in a bad place and you need to probably get out of it before engaging in whatever activities you’re considering. :/
