Being an MEP was the job I was born for. Boozy lunches, a lot of time travelling, a sense of self importance without any actual responsibilities. Brexit robbed me of this.
See this is how the broadcasters should promote. Don't try and fake it with "Derbies" that aren't, go for actual bad blood. Promote it like boxing or wrestling, go for the Grudge.
I think younger millennials and (to an extent) older zoomers have an especial nostalgia for this even though they didn’t experience it themselves. The early 2000s was the culture of the “older kids” that you saw as a kid, and then when you got to that point in life it was gone
Still gutted about the result but that was some game to watch. Well done Worcester, a game that deserved a finish like that. Excited for the future of Ealing nonetheless. Up the trails.
@RugbyRecitation@WorcsFaithful Detriment is a bit of a harsh word to use. Ealing’s attendance was improving with the prem cup last season by a good couple of thousands. Ealing vs Cov and Worcester both home and away were quality this season. I think next season will be a properly competitive Champ to be fair.
@TheRugbyIssue Nika can be fairly liberal when it comes to the breakdown. It always feels like a French side has an automatic advantage when he is officiating as little is penalised for going off feet. Maybe it’s my English bias but I truly think it’s a travesty Luke Pearce has not been chosen
@wynlap@ealingtfrugby Takes nothing away front this achievement - Ealing have had to deal with massive injury problems and hard fought wins against Coventry and Cornish pirates amongst the like. Ealing vs Worcester in the play off semi final is going to be unreal.
@allTxs@garethreynolds@rugbyontnt Like Zebre have done for the past 15 years? Ealing proved them self both merit wise and crowd size during the prem cup. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to say Ealing are a top division quality side.
