If you are a dog lover you know who the “thedogist” is on IG. He flew to So Cal from New York to help save dogs from the wildfires. He is helping transport affected doggos to dog sanctuary’s, out of harms way.

The intense fire surprised Mario Alberto, who is a deaf man, in the middle of the night. His humble house and his vehicle were on fire, but his only concern was his best friend, Gordo, who was still inside his house.

Desperate, he even tried to put out the fire with a hose but the flames were destroying everything, including his hopes of finding his dog alive. He kept pointing out to the firefighters that nothing mattered more than his pet and when he thought he would never see him again, suddenly in the midst of the raging flames, one of them came out with Gordo.

The look on Mr Alberto’s face tells you everything you need to know!

Rescued an amazing 8 trailer loads of horses in 21 hours!!

From her Mom Vera V-Abdallah, the founder and director of Love This Horse Equine Rescue Inc. in Mojave, California:

My hero for today is my 18-year old daughter Tamarah! Together, over the past 21 hours (with one hour of sleep in between) we pulled out a total of eight trailer loads of horses in the #AltadenaFire affected area (#EatonFire).

Tamarah can load any horse and we loaded horses! From minis, to hunter jumper ponies (man, were they cute!), to difficult huge TB horses that hadn’t been in a trailer for 15 years, to partially blind big old warmblood horses (that used to earn their owner $60,000/year in prize money), to expensive race horses, to good ol’ quarter horses… Tamarah loaded them all alongside me. We made a good team, plus I felt confident that we could get all horses into our trailer and evacuated to safety because of Tamarah’s incredible loading and horse handling skills.

We are home now, Tamarah is already asleep, the smoke really affected her, breathing bad air like we did is not fun. We are grateful that we were able to help evacuate eight trailer loads of horses. Some of our loads were as large as six horses at a time, the smallest load was two big horses that were rocking our trailer in protest.
