Activists in the Netherlands have interrupted the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam in protest of the organisation including two Israeli-funded films in this year's Palestine pathway programme.

Last year, over 20 filmmakers withdrew from the festival due to its condemnation of liberatory Palestinian speech and its refusal to take a stand against Israel's genocidal assault on Gaza.

While the violence against the Palestinians has since then escalated at unprecedented fast pace, Israel has globally killed, maimed, made orphans and homeless, kidnapped and held hostage, tortured and raped, tormented and persecuted millions of Palestinians since its inception as a State and more forcefully since 1967.

Palestinians are a nation of Nakba survivors, who have never ceded sovereignty over their land, and who have been forced to live with, or at the conditions set by, their oppressor for decades.

May the current tragedy lead to much needed reckoning with the Past and Justice.
