Spanish Family Among Six Killed in Manhattan Helicopter Crash

A sightseeing tour of New York City turned tragic when a helicopter carrying a Spanish family and their pilot crashed into the Hudson River on Thursday, killing all six on board. The victims included two adults, three children, and the pilot.

The family was visiting the U.S. and had embarked on an aerial tour of Manhattan. Shocking eyewitness footage captured the moment of the crash, showing the helicopter without its tail or rotors moments before impact. The main rotor was seen spinning independently in midair after the chopper slammed into the river.

One witness described a “sonic boom” followed by the horrifying sight of the aircraft breaking apart: “I look up and see a helicopter splitting in two with the rotor flying off… it went straight into the water. I've never seen anything like that.”

Emergency services rushed to the scene, but none of the occupants survived. Authorities, including the FAA and NTSB, are investigating the cause of the crash.
