I’ve always defended 'liberal' democracy and pragmatism, but I’m done. When you see the power of corporate media, activist judges, the dominance of big business, and the brutal inequality and injustice in every country, alongside total far-right insanity, playing fair is just losing.

We need to drop the manners, forget the optics, and go for the jugular. No mercy, no apologies.

How to solve the housing crisis:

• Expropriate empty homes owned by landlords with 10+ properties and investment funds
• 100% tax on every new home bought after the third property
• Rent controls
• Ban Airbnb
• Massive public housing program, including student housing

Pedro Sánchez hasn’t done any of this. I don’t know how many times I have to insist that Sánchez is a moderate and a liberal (in the American sense). I want a PSOE that’s more left-wing than Sánchez’s. He only approved limited rent controls because he was pressured from the left, and they barely apply anywhere anyway hahaha. And I mean, Spain >> Italy (your favorite government).

It’s possible. In countries polarized into blocs, the gaps usually narrow. That’s also why I expect more of a D+6 year than D+10 or even more, despite the good trends for the Democrats. I don’t know, I just don’t see a path that doesn’t end with Magda becoming statsminister, but maybe it’ll happen the way I describe here and not the way I’d personally like.
