It is difficult to hear the gentle whisper of God’s voice in a world of activity and noise unless we develop pockets of silence where we can unclutter our minds and hearts.

Palm Sunday begins the journey of Holy Week. We focus on and are grateful for God’s selfless love which in turn calls us to serve others humbly. We rekindle the spirit of our compassion.
Things may not always be as they appear. Every morning is a chance to begin again. What needs to happen so my vision can be cleared in order see situations and others with more clarity, understanding and insight?
Each one of us is enriched when we acknowledge differences in an open spirit of hospitality, and remain aware of the need to learn how to dialogue with respect, skill, and competence.

Our days easily get filled with noise and chatter, exaggerated by text messaging and frequent exchanges on social media. However, we can change that, if we want.
Listening is one of the most precious gifts we can give anyone.
Building a world, community or organization marked by reconciliation and hope slows down with unkind words and actions. However, it does get built with each act of compassion and concern, and in every loving, caring, forgiving and healing thought.
Lent begins today for Christians. It is a time of hope and renewal. It invites perspective. I need to see myself not in terms of my desires but in terms of how I am becoming who God wants me to be in generous service to others.
If I continue to nurture a grudge and won’t make an attempt to forgive, I will end up placing a great burden on myself for the rest of my life and lose out on an opportunity to make something new and fresh out of a spoiled situation.
On this Day of Prayer and Awareness Against Human Trafficking I am grateful for those who continue to monitor how and if the rights of individuals who have been trafficked are being protected. May we learn to work together to end exploitation by addressing its causes.
We can be the touch of human love for those who have no friends, the source of strength for those who are helpless, and the healer in times of hurt. The caring acts of God are performed through hands that serve.
It’s natural in large communities for people to come together in smaller groups. A difficulty occurs when smaller exclusive groups refuse to share the gifts and richness of their differences with the whole community. There can be great unity in diversity.
#BellLetsTalk We help remove the stigma when we actively support recovery and treat each person with dignity so they feel safe, respected, valued and cared for. Along with talking let’s also listen to each other.
What causes people sometimes to blame each other and then resort to acts of hostility? There are many avenues to settle disagreements in a civil way. They are based on respect for one another, allowing us to place violence aside and begin to dialogue.
