hi folks -- it's been a long time coming, but... the @AlertsForMerch app is here!
get it now:

Android: https://t.co/qP0rpwKuNq
1/3
thank you. ♥️
a lot of the work the past few months has been to squeeze more performance out of the bots.
i've seen alerts get sent to devices in as fast as under a second from when store changes are detected (also why yesterday's incident was incredibly annoying for everyone)
@AlertsForMerch I must say it was thanks to your bot; it was the fastest to notify me. When I clicked, the main page hadn't even been edited yet. Thank you! 💖
i think it goes without saying, but my apologies for the notification bomb last night.
i was making changes to the scraper so that if it starts up while the store is password protected, it gets inventory from the database and uses that -- and clearly, I introduced a bug.
@charmed3322 that was caused by (ironically) everyone trying to do the same thing.
it looks like things should have recovered, let me know if that's not the case.
@downbad2420 yeah, please go delete and redownload -- there's been a lot of new app versions over the past couple of months, and the app stores are being really slow about pushing the updates to people.
if you're still having issues, please let me know!
@Vc0725894671822 of course - it's actually been a really fun side project kinda deal. a nice break from my full-time job. :-)
are you having issues right now, or is this from last night (i just tried logging out and back in, and that seems to work fine.)
in the medium-term, i need to figure out what it means to have a staging environment - that is, so new scraper builds can be tested without y'all's potential involvement.
i rolled back the scraper last night to the last known good build, so things should be stable now.
