That's exactly the balance shown on 23 May 2026.
Then another N679.28 was applied on 6 June:
N80,834.77 − N679.28 = N80,155.49
And again on 9 July:
N80,155.49 − N679.28 = N79,476.21.

This shows that N679.28 of your MAP meter refund is being used as an energy credit toward your electricity consumption each time it is applied.

If your total MAP refund is N81,514.05, the system is currently giving you N679.28 worth of refund credit at a time.

The fact that the balance is reducing is a good indication that your MAP reimbursement is active and being applied.

Yes. Let me break it down in very simple terms.

What is this all about?

The message is talking about money that is being returned to some electricity customers.

The update is that some electricity customers are entitled to refunds/credits relating to electricity meter costs, and instead of receiving the refund as cash in their bank account, eligible prepaid customers receive the refund through electricity tokens/credits.

Think of it like this:
Suppose you bought electricity tokens normally (i.e customer), If you are eligible for a N50,000 refund, they will not send N50,000 to your bank.
Instead, your electricity account could receive something like (April → N4,191 credit, May → N4,191 credit, June → N4,191 credit) until the refund is fully recovered. And the refund is spread over approximately 12 months rather than being paid all at once.

1️⃣ Incorporate the company with CAC with business objects that properly cover the intended petroleum/downstream activities.

2️⃣ Secure a suitable site and obtain the relevant planning/development and land documentation. Site suitability and location requirements are important before investing heavily in construction.

3️⃣ Obtain the required NMDPRA approvals/license. NMDPRA operates a Retail Outlets Monitoring System (ROMS) through which retail-outlet applications, licences and verification are handled.

4️⃣ Meet safety and environmental requirements. Including applicable fire-safety, environmental, and HSE requirements. NMDPRA's training framework specifically covers hazards, fire, spills, PPE and emergency response for petroleum retail outlets.

5️⃣ Construction & installation projects of the tanks, pumps, piping, canopy and other facilities must comply with the applicable technical and safety requirements and be subject to the required regulatory inspections/approvals.

6️⃣ Tax & other compliance registrations including the applicable tax registrations and employment/statutory obligations.

7️⃣ Final regulatory approval/licensing before operation — don't assume that having a CAC certificate means you can start selling PMS, AGO, or DPK. The petroleum operation itself is separately regulated.

Lastly, the cost cannot honestly be reduced to one fixed amount. Land, location, civil works, tanks/pumps, approvals, safety installations, working capital, and the scale of the station can make the total investment vary significantly.
