The problem was never that Kick wanted to fight bots or artificial engagement. Most people support that goal. The real issue is how these changes were implemented and who ended up being affected.
For weeks, many creators were told that the drop in earnings was an error. During that time, people waited patiently for answers. Now, after significant reductions in payouts and new restrictions, it feels like the responsibility is being shifted onto viewers and creators who were simply using the platform as intended.
A real viewer should never be treated as suspicious simply because they enjoy watching multiple streams. Consuming more content does not make someone less valuable to the platform. In fact, highly engaged viewers are often the foundation of a healthy streaming ecosystem.
If someone watches several streamers, participates in different communities, and spends more time on the platform than average, that should not automatically place them in the same category as artificial engagement. The challenge should be identifying bots, not reducing the value of legitimate users.
What makes this situation especially frustrating is not just the financial impact or the new limitations. It is the lack of communication. Major changes that affect creators' income, viewer participation, and community growth should be explained clearly before they are implemented, not weeks later after people have already experienced the consequences.
Support responses that feel automated and repetitive only make the situation worse. When communities are asking legitimate questions, they want transparency and honest communication, not copy-and-paste answers.
A better outcome could have been achieved by discussing these concerns with creators and viewers first, gathering feedback, and then designing solutions that target artificial activity without negatively affecting real people.
The most loyal users on any platform are often the ones who spend the most time there. A platform should never make those users feel like they are being punished for engaging with the content and communities they enjoy.
The issue is not the fight against bots. The issue is that real creators and real viewers appear to have carried most of the consequences, while communication arrived too late. Trust is much harder to rebuild than it is to maintain, and right now that trust is what many people feel has been damaged the most.
Don't misunderstand me, I say this because I care about the platform; if the platform does well, so does everyone else

Hello @Svntvmvriv , @kicksupport@KICKEthan@StakeEddie I am ThunderStrauss, Partner on Kick, and I would like to share a recommendation to improve the platform.
Currently, the shadowban for spam system has been effective in combating serious issues with scripters and users who automate messages. However, it presents a critical point: it limits genuine interaction in the channels. Community engagement and growth — both for streamers and viewers — are strengthened when a real person writes in the chat, even if they only greet, say goodbye, or participate minimally. Every authentic interaction is valuable for the platform.
The problem is that many innocent users who type manually end up punished by the algorithm. This is not only unfair, but it also affects emotionally and morally those who are sanctioned without reason, generating frustration and discouragement. As a result, important members of the community are lost, or their desire to interact on the platform decreases.
Therefore, I propose the following:
Remove the shadowban punishment for spam.
Implement a mixed CAPTCHA system (at least 2 types) to block scripters and chatbotters without affecting real users.
Limit users to 100–200 messages per hour or per day (this number can be adjusted). Once they reach that limit, they must complete a mandatory CAPTCHA to unlock another 100–200 messages. This would allow genuine interaction while preventing mass spam and bot usage.
With these measures, healthy interaction would be encouraged, and innocent users would no longer be unfairly punished. Additionally, protection against automation would be simplified without relying on complex algorithms that can generate false positives.
I would also like to emphasize that what is considered spam for some, may not be for others. Any update that fosters healthy coexistence between streamers and viewers should be carefully analyzed, as it benefits the entire community.
This recommendation was discussed together with my community, which only seeks the best for the platform. I highlight the participation of users such as Khanino_mx, SauriLegion, AlexisVT, and myself, ThunderStrauss. After reviewing the negative and positive points, we found many more benefits if this method is considered over the current one.
I trust you and appreciate that you always take our suggestions into account. We will continue working together to improve the platform, for a better Kick every day.
Cheers to that!
