Holy Spirit who “spoke by the prophets” is the Testimony of Jesus within us. As the Breath of our entire existence, we who are words of God are spoken to echo the Word of God Himself. As the resonance of our very being, he who is in Christ is “one spirit with the Lord.”
I hope you will not miss out on this pivotal opportunity to explore Holy Spirit in an experiential, interactive way. Pentecost is far deeper than the shallow, transactional theatrics of Pentecostalism ™ (no offense intended). This is an extensive and challenging course, so prepare yourself - you can still catch early bird tuition until Monday. Warning: this may scorch your face off.

Now that the Lenten season of thinking God wants our misery draws to a close we can get back to trusting Christ and stop pretending self-effort has any relevance to our spirituality.
God’s “chosen fast” is helping humanity, setting the oppressed free and giving of ourselves to others: the practical, positive self-denial of love: not self-abasement of starving oneself in false humility. If the self-deprecation of Lent is valid Christian practice, why not punish ourselves all year long? Why the annual pageantry?
“So if, through your faith in Christ, you are dead to the principles of this world’s life, why, as if you were still part and parcel of this world-wide system, do you take the slightest notice of these purely human prohibitions—‘Don’t touch this,’ ‘Don’t taste that’ and ‘Don’t handle the other’? ‘This’, ‘that’ and ‘the other’ will all pass away after use! I know that these regulations look wise with their self-inspired efforts at worship, their policy of self-humbling, and their studied neglect of the body. But in actual practice they do honour, not to God, but to man’s own pride” (Col. 2:20-23, JB Phillips).
Fast media, the phone, give your attention over to His presence… fast anxiety, criticism, evil, religion. These things have benefit, not in drawing us one inch closer to God but in returning our attention to this union. God is not desiring sacrifice and offering, but open ears: loving acknowledgement of Him that empowers us to walk in virtue.
The primitive church fasted only forty hours each year, as a commemoration of Jesus’ time in the grave from Friday evening until Sunday morning. Lent is a later invention hoisted upon us, turning forty hours into forty days, as an effort to repeat Christ’s wilderness fast - a fast He brought no one to assist Him with, as it was part of His substitutionary act (every Old Testament fast - Daniel, Esther, etc. - symbolically pointed to this as well: Jesus’ own single-handed stripping away of our fallen “fleshly” nature). Also, the Jews only ritually fasted one day a year, the Day of Atonement - the Lord never asked His people to improve their spirituality by beating up their humanity. Every other Jewish commemoration was a feast. And now, the Day of Atonement has become the greatest feast of the cosmos:
On Good Friday, Christ died our death, peeled back our sinful nature in the Great Fast, and once and for all has made us holy through a single sacrifice that united us closer to God than we can fathom: ineffable oneness. Maybe Jesus had something to do with our spirituality. Good Friday exposes the bewitchment of religious asceticism as the path to God, for Christ’s own death has become the death of ourselves. The One has died, and we all died together with Him. No longer is our battle against a sinful nature, but our call is to consider ourselves dead to it, as we truly are.
“If we have been united with Him like this in His death, we will certainly also be united with Him in His resurrection.”
Advent Day 5 Meditation
There is no God who stands above our darkness, but only the One who entered into it. The advent of the eternal Son into time and space, bringing His Father and Holy Spirit with Him, illuminates the recesses of our broken human experience in such a way that there is no corner or fractured crevice that has not been set ablaze with His uncreated light.
The gospel heals our blindness to see the One who fills everything in every way.
Strange that there is almost no legacy media coverage of this.
About 2 million people – from every country on Earth – are entering through the US southern border every year.
The number is rising rapidly, yet no preventive action is taken by the current administration.
Give yourself permission to not worry, not strive. You’ve done your part. Now take your hands off. It’s not going to happen just by your might, by your power, by your intellect. It’s going to be the hand of God.
Do not be discouraged with all that is happening. This is not the end of the world, and it is not a time to pull back in fear. This is a time to press into the Lord.
THE GUY WHO STOLE MY GUITAR JUST GAVE HIS LIFE TO JESUS!!!!
He’s getting baptized right now!!
He’s came and surprised me in front of 7000 people!
GOD WRITES THE BEST STORIES!!!
We are easily seduced into empire building. Jesus never asked us to build His kingdom. All we are capable of constructing is Babel. He said, “I will build My church.”
The New Jerusalem is not built from the ground up with human hands; it comes down from heaven with its origins in God. Every Tower of Babel is bound to collapse, the sweat of our vain toil ending in rubble. But the gates of hell will not prevail against the church.
“I am the light of the world.” Jn. 8:12
“You are the light of the world.” Mt. 5:14
“For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.” Eph. 5:8
The enemy has been over-attacking you and trying to make you think God is doing it. He’s trying to get you angry at God and other people so that he can accuse you. But God is releasing a strategy to help you get out of these negative cycles.
“Progressive Christianity” is a scam.
Don’t fall for it. The gospel has stood the test of time and doesn’t need the additions of woke culture to make it more relevant or appealing.
The Bible is NOT archaic.
The words of Jesus are NOT bigotry.
His WORD lasts forever.
Salvation is not a legal transaction to appease a distant deity in some abstract cosmic courtroom. It is not stamping your paperwork as positionally “holy“ by the blood (if you say a prayer), whilst a legalistic god just ignorantly pretends you meet his demanding requirements by mercilessly butchering his own innocent child to pay for the mercy you receive. Forgiveness bought is not forgiveness. Love purchased is not love. Holiness pretended is unholy.
Salvation is the embodiment of the eternal Son of the Father into the heart of our darkness, vicariously curbing our broken humanity back from the verge of non-being. Through His own life of holiness, He reverses the self-destructing disease of our sin by absorbing our own inhuman wrath on the tree, defeating death by death. He did not acquire the Father’s love for us: Jesus demonstrates and enacts the Father’s unconditional love toward us by meeting and becoming us in the depth of our fallen condition, then recreating us according to His benevolent design.
The Holy Spirit is the Fire of that love, salting every one of us, burning away the delusional false self by illuminating Christ as perfect revelation of our True Selves and likewise the perfect image of His forever gracious Father.
Bowing to a false god of legal fiction only replicates within us the same powerless, pretentious veneer of pseudo-holiness. But the Spirit of Truth actuates real-life virtue within us, making us truly human by revealing the authentic heart of the Father displayed in Jesus Christ.
The blood of Jesus breaks every curse, spell, hex, demonic assignment and stronghold!
We took communion today in Boise for our 24th US Capitol while pleading the blood of Jesus over Idaho with thousands! 🩸🍷🍞

St. Paul never says Christ died to reconcile God back to you. Rather, He reconciled us back to God. Sin caused us to run away from God. Sin caused Him to run directly toward us. Nowhere within the Triune life are Father, Son and Spirit anything but perfect, cruciform love. The preaching of this Scandal incurred Paul’s martyrdom.
