What a week it has been!

We kicked off with the Board Meeting, approving and becoming the first quoted bank to announce an outstanding Q1 result, while also diving deep into strategies for the future.

By Wednesday and Thursday, the energy shifted into full gear at the Group Chairman’s Forum — an incredible gathering of leaders across the Group, spanning 20 African countries and 4 continents, sharing insights and shaping the next chapter of our story.

Friday morning was the 63rd Annual General Meeting, where we connected with our shareholders and celebrated strong returns.

And then, Friday night — we switched gears and turned up the vibe at the @UBAGroup 75th Anniversary Dinner. A night of memories, music, laughter, and a real sense of pride in how far we have come.

UBA is more than a bank, it’s a movement, and we are only just getting started!

Yesterday, I paid a courtesy visit to my brother and friend, His Excellency Dauda Lawal Dare, Governor of Zamfara State.

It was a pleasure to reconnect and discuss ways we can continue to support the great work being done in Zamfara.

It was a delight to attend Experience Plateau: Art Meets Fashion — a celebration of creativity, culture, and community.

From the vibrant showcase of the Goudo fabric to the artistic expressions that told the story of Northern Nigeria’s heritage, the evening was nothing short of magical.

Thank you to His Excellency, Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau state, for bringing this vision to life and for the kind invitation.

Over the weekend, I joined my GMD, @OliverAlawuba, on a condolence visit to the Governor of Katsina State, Dr. Dikko Umar Radda, following the passing of his beloved mother, Hajiya Safara’u Umaru Baribari.

Alongside other dignitaries, we offered our heartfelt sympathies and prayers for the family. May her soul rest in peace, and may the family find strength during this difficult time.
