Unpopular opinion but joining the army isn’t something to be praised. We’ve been taught that it’s the most heroic thing a person can do, but really you’re signing up to risk your life to defend a government full of nonces and liars that wouldn’t even offer you a home when you’re too old, injured or just no use to them anymore. You’re not defending the country, you’re defending those in power, the ones that start these wars but won’t fight them, the same nonces that have left the majority of their people to starve, be homeless, and live a life of misery. I hope one day we look closer to home and fight the right people. The same people that happily take 1/5th of your weekly wage in tax but have absolutely no shame in making it legal to pay you £11.44 for an hour of your time. One hour of your time is worth less than 12 Andrex toilet roll according to these people that we allow to run the country. Pick your battles wisely. I’d rather get beheaded in public for trying to fight the right people than fight for those who watch us suffer daily. Everyday that goes by where people take their anti-depressants and continue to work for rich companies, knowing they’ll never be able to afford anything more than necessities, is painful, and I’m just patiently waiting for us all to grow a backbone and realise how fucked up this all is.
