Special shout out to the wonderful people @CanterburyPark. Support their track! As they start the meet tonight, I want to recognize the great treatment I was given when attending their races towards the beginning of this podcast. Thx to @AngelaHermann15 , @Gorgamatic21 , @CBYTrackFlack , @PAOnTheMic, and PR Manager/ new HOF inductee Jeff Maday. I look forward to heading back to Canterbury in the near future! #minnesotanice
Kyle Busch wasn’t just one of the fiercest competitors our sport has ever seen, he was one of the most talented race car drivers I’ve ever shared a track with. We spent years as teammates at Hendrick Motorsports, and even as competitors, there was always a deep respect for what he could do behind the wheel.
Kyle pushed all of us to be better. His passion, intensity, and love for racing were unmatched, and his impact on this sport will be felt forever.
I'll always remember the many laughs and conversations away from the spotlight, and most importantly the way he cared so deeply about his family.
My heart goes out to Samantha, Brexton, Lennix, Kurt, his parents, many teammates across the industry, fans and everyone who loved Kyle.
NASCAR lost one of its greatest talents today, and we've all lost a friend.
I made him earn every victory and stole a few from him along the way. We took our shots at each other, in the media and on the track. But I’d like to think that somewhere deep down there was an appreciation that we pushed each other to perform at the highest level, even if neither of us would’ve admitted it.
Tonight, I feel a little like the coyote with no more roadrunner to chase. His loss is all of our loss, but none more so than his family’s. Thinking of Samantha, and Brexton and Lennix who lost their father today.
"My hope (coming into the season) was that when the season was over people would be more excited about the future of Gopher basketball than when the season started. I think the guys have accomplished that"

A story about John Sherriffs that I'll never forget.
The day after Zenyatta lost at the Breeders' Cup we drove along the fence row on the backside of Churchill. I had seen on Twitter that the barn Zenyatta was in was visible from the road so we decided to take a shot before we left town.
We found the barn and Shirreffs was out there, but with a different horse. We parked the car and went and asked him if Zenyatta was going to be out anytime soon. He said no, that she had just been out, and probably wouldn’t come back out until the afternoon. We said thanks and started talking to him and asking questions and stuff. We told him we were from Missouri and had to leave and get back home.
He went to the barn and told us to hang on a minute he’d be right back. He returned with Zenyatta. Brought her up to the fence and let us see her for a while. Brought the exercise rider over and he talked to us for a long time.
The Racing Dudes didn't even exist at that time. We didn’t really know much to be honest. Him doing that meant everything at the time. It was truly one of the best days of my life in racing.
Fast forward a few years. Racing Dudes was born and the horse you see in the logo was inspired by none other than Zenyatta. Safe to say that John Sherriffs certainly made an impact in our lives and even possible without him and Zenyatta, Racing Dudes would have never happened.
Thanks for everything, John.🙏🏼
The Daniel Jones Achilles injury is awful in so many ways.
But I do want to shed a light on his toughness.
He was already playing with a broken bone in his fibula… Then he ruptured his Achilles and still chose to walk off the field instead of using a cart.
And later in the game, he was back on the sideline supporting his teammates and helping QB Riley Leonard.
This man’s toughness, competitiveness, and love for the sport and his teammates are unquestioned.
And that deserves respect.

Introducing the Cody “Beef” Franke Scholarship Fund at Ferris State University.
Our friend Beef loved his time at the Ferris State PGA Golf Management Program. In his memory, we have worked with the university and Cody’s family to create a scholarship fund that will honor his kindness and love for the game, and will support in perpetuity students at Ferris State University, sculpting young leaders to carry themselves both professionally and personally as Beef did. With all class.
If you’re feeling generous, you can contribute a gift to the fund here: https://t.co/LW2uFNKtqX
Hats off to Beef, always.
