Like real-life monarchs, a young T’Challa was pampered and unconcerned with the plight of civilians but went into hiding after his family’s hold over the throne was violently taken. He’s taken in by a group of super-powered people and taught to fight
“Why is he a billionaire?” Because it’s an easy explanation of how he affords all those gadgets.
“Why doesn’t he use his money to help people?” He does actually.
“Why doesn’t he kill his villains?” Because then DC wouldn’t get to reuse those villains in continuity
